It was very good in all respects except the time of the return flight (1-30 am) which covered all the sleeping time. Some of the children were crying loudly during the flight.I look forward to take the same tour with revised flight time.Hotel was very good. Staff were very helpful, kind and generous. Apollo's arrangements at the airports and pick up and dropping were problemfree.Thanks !
We were three travelers who booked the “Secret Epirus” excursion, expecting a full river journey with Greek mythology, wildlife, and a proper guided boat experience. What we got instead was a completely misleading, uncomfortable, and at times unsafe trip.The trip's misleading description made it look like we were promised a full-day mythological boat ride from Ammoudia to Gliki. Instead, we spent over four hours on an unbearably hot bus, listening to a Danish guide who refused to switch to English despite repeated requests from us and several other passengers. We were handed the only Swedish translation and ended up helping other confused travelers. Important instructions were given only in Danish, and even the schedule was changed twice without a clear explanation. The trip said a Scandinavian language, but we expected the agents to at least ask how many spoke what, and or shift between languages, so everyone could understand. Like, why pay for a trip when you can't understand it?The “boat trip” we paid for lasted barely 25 minutes. The guide didn’t even join us, and the boat driver kept turning his back to the river to talk about obolos coins, which felt unsafe. When the short trip ended abruptly, we were left waiting by the bus with no guidance, suddenly surrounded by more passengers than before, adding to the confusion.The bus ride continued to be uncomfortable and frightening. At one point, the driver hit another car during a tight turn, then braked so hard the whole bus jolted. Thankfully, we had seatbelts on.Lunch was the only positive part. After that, we were herded toward the river with a very unclear explanation in Danish. Only at the river itself did we finally hear English again, where the guide emphasized that anyone late for the 15:00 departure would simply be left behind, which felt unnecessarily harsh.When we tried to address all this with the local Apollo representative, we were dismissed. They even changed their story about the boat trip length, first claiming it should have been 45–60 minutes, then backtracking to “around 30 minutes,” conveniently matching what we had reported.The entire experience was misleading and did not match the description we paid for. The Package Travel Act clearly states that misleading information can entitle travelers to compensation, and this excursion was nothing like what was advertised.We have tried to get any kind of compensation, but Apollo refuses, trying to bury us in their bureaucracy. Not even a heartfelt sorry could we get. We feel so dismissed and overlooked. I do not recommend that trip at all! Most of the day will be you sitting in a hot bus! This is the description of the trip. “Not far from Parga flows the Acheron River, also known as the Styx from Greek mythology. The myth says that this is where Achilles was dipped in the river by his mother to become immortal. The day begins with a boat trip from the village of Ammoudia and continues along the river, where you will hear more about the myths and the wildlife that is there. There is also the opportunity to see both turtles and beavers. At the village of Gliki, where the river Styx, now Acheron, begins, there is the opportunity to wade and follow the guide through the cool river water. The day ends with lunch by the river.”Not once did it say a 4 + hour bus drive with only a max 25-minute boat drive. Yeah, like heck we got a boat ride up the river. All it was was like half of those 25 minutes going up a bit, so we could see an empty nest, and then going back where we started. We had to wait for the boat too, because of a scheduling mistake. So we had to wait for at least half an hour, being too afraid to even leave the pier to buy something to drink because we could be left behind. Then after the abdrot boat ride, we had to wait for the damn bus even if it was there already. We got no information on when we were leaving, so once again, we had to just stand there waiting to not be left behind. Once again! DO NOT pick this one! IT absolutely is not worth 758 kr! Do yourself a favor and just rent a car, drive to the river yourself, and pay for that awesome lunch! And spend your time enjoying the space without fearing being left behind! The trip was so unorganized, too. So many people, and it felt like the agents didn't even know how to keep track of us or make sure we all were on board. I was so afraid of getting left behind because of this, and stressed so much. At least give us a number to call, or a wristband, or something so you know we are there. They didn't even check the bus or do a roll call at the end. Something bad could have happend!
Everything went wellFrom pickup at the airport on arrival to the ferry crossing to Naxos and transport to my hotel from the harbour all went good..Good communication via the app,and any questions answered quicklyI have used Apollo on several occasions on holidays to Greece and have found them very goodMy Hotel in Plaka Naxos the Evedokia which i have stayed in twice is very good and close to the beach and everything else
Experience with Hotel Myrino and Apollo representativesUnfortunately, I became ill during my trip. I have travelled with Apollo several times before, but this was my first visit to this hotel. It turned out that the hotel staff, restaurant staff, and the doctor were absolutely wonderful and provided excellent service. The Apollo representatives, on the other hand, were completely absent—except for the long string of text messages I received while bedridden, urging me to go down to the reception and pay for my late check-out, which was absolutely necessary due to my condition.There was no action behind the kind words. I had to arrange everything myself—oral rehydration solution, water, food brought to my room, even carrying my suitcase down to the reception. There was no trace of human compassion. In fact, the doctor ended up driving my daughter to and from the pharmacy, which was open over the weekend—something you might expect an Apollo rep to offer assistance with.Since there was no kiosk available to buy drinks, I had to either walk 1.5 km to the village or purchase a 25 cl drink in the restaurant for €4.I’ve always been very happy with my Apollo trips, but this experience will definitely affect my choice for future travels.
There was an extra Charge to bring your bags home. 8euro/kg. Hidden choice when booking on iPhone just as user Hugo wrote. When complaining to head office they see no reason to improve app. They Just tell you it’s your responsibility to check on the web. No interest to improve the iOS app. The personell from Apollo working at the airport told me I was not the first one, it is very common problem they said. And still HQ don’t see the need to improve the app. Really strange and really bad service.
Chooses one way for bags as standard and has a almost hidden option to include bringing bags home with you, if you don’t find this option you will have to pay 100 euro per bag extra to get them home with you. So bad service I actually went on here and created a account just to leave the review
I booked a trip to Croatia with this company and one of the reason I did was that according to the website it would be easy to bring my sport gear, in that case my bicycle...nothing further from the truth, I exchanged emails for a week and never got a straight answer, only I was promised an answer for the following day, which went on for several days...not a company I will use again.
