At £90+vat and after the first hour £45 +vat for every half an hour is extortion.
Especially when the electrician is deliberately choosing to delay and investigate at unnecessary unrelated places to expend time.
I was charged £509 for 4 hours with no results.

Do not use Aspect; the terms are not clear, and you will definitely pay way more than they make you think you would. I contacted Aspect after one of the handymen on-site had recommended it. I was clear about the particular job and showed the pictures to the handyman. The job was supposed to take an hour or a maximum of 2 hours, but the handyman spent 5 hours, taking several breaks in between. Eventually, I was charged for 4 hours and spent 200% than I had budgeted to spend
I strongly recommend steering clear of this service. They had no idea what the problem was with the drain and made no effort to investigate. The technician arrived late at around 10 PM with a young assistant who appeared underage. He spent less than five minutes examining the issue while chatting, mentioned that his drain jetting machine had broken during a previous job, and promised to return at 9 AM the next day but never showed up. There was no communication from them to inform customers of any updates. I attempted to call all morning the following day but found the line disconnected. Now, I'm being pursued for £145.80, which I refuse to pay for work that was never completed. This company seems primarily focused on collecting call-out fees.
The technician came to inspect and replace our one-way rat valve in the exterior drain, which had been frequently clogging and blocking the drain. He was incredibly helpful and polite, clearly explaining the issue and outlining all possible solutions. He pointed out that the pipes were old and slightly misaligned, causing water pooling and slow drainage, which affected the valve's performance. He worked diligently for several hours, keeping us updated on his progress and encouraging us to ask questions. Before leaving, he even requested a mop and bleach to clean and mop the floors. He ensured he was satisfied with the performance of the new trap, which was challenging to install due to the pipe size. Additionally, he showed us the work done on the CCTV camera and confirmed our satisfaction before his departure. I highly recommend this technician and the service, as we have relied on them for several years.
We had a straightforward repair that was supposed to be quick—called in and was informed it would take just an hour. Later, I received a callback expressing interest in working with us since we are a business. They offered an initial assessment with a lower quote, no strings attached, and promised a same-day repair pending payment approval. I adjusted my part-time work schedule to accommodate the five-hour arrival window (12pm-5pm), booked for Tuesday. However, they didn’t show up. I rescheduled for the same time on Thursday and again, they didn’t come. They mentioned they would escalate it to management and assured someone would arrive between 10am-12pm the next day. So, what happened?
- A) They arrived and fixed the issue, - B) They didn’t show up... Drumroll please... If you guessed B) Congratulations! You’re absolutely correct. As of now, no one has come. Save your time and consider supporting local services instead. EDIT: After waiting, I managed to reach them and discovered they hadn’t actually scheduled or approved any of our appointments. The support agent speculated it was due to the need for approval on free assessments, despite the initial offer coming from them. All the support agents were incredibly helpful, but the job management was lacking.
The representative was incredibly efficient and honest. Arriving on time, they kept us informed throughout the entire process, detailing the steps needed to locate the leak and the associated costs. Once the leak was found, they clarified the next steps, which ultimately turned out to be the responsibility of the water provider. I would definitely recommend this service for its professionalism, politeness, and excellent customer care.
