After finding the main office closed, we followed the sign in front of the office and reached the second office in the car park, where a "be back soon" sign was waiting for us. Once the employee arrived, she checked our documents and informed us that the credit card could not be accepted because it was issued by a non-physical bank and asked us if we had another one. Unfortunately we didn't have any. Then she told us that she could accept it but only with payment of car insurance of 326 euros for the 4 days of rental. We rejected the offer and we asked for a refund. We were told to contact the portal on which we booked. We (my girlfriend , me and two children) asked to find a solution, in order not to be stuck at the Fiumicino airport at night. The response was: We can't help you. With the same credit card that AutoUnion rejected, we booked a car in the office next door for half the price, including insurance, and managed to go home. I highly recommend to avoid them.

Scammers, just don't book with them

Small-time scammers

Small-time scammers, trying to tack on $800 damages charge after I've returned the car in immaculate condition (St. Maarten office.) Luckily, I took a minute-long video, inside and outside of the vehicle. JPMorgan Chase gave them a finger ;-)

I didn't like the experience

I didn't like the experience. We got an American car and its speedometer was set to miles. The stuff didn't check it for us and didn't even mention that is has to be changed, or we should keep in mind that it wasn't in km. It took us a while to realize that the speed was actually higher than we saw on speedometer, which is not safe and also caused us speeding fines. We believe the company does it on purpose because they charge extra 20% for paying those fines, so nice business for them.Overall service wasn't really polite. When we said that it was set in miles, the drop-off guy answered that we should have changed it and if we didn't know how we should have contacted them.!Also, on the highway, every other car switched to high beams at us because, apparently, our headlights were shining too high, making the low beams look like high beams.Quite disappointing service.

Do not use this company

Firstly, they have a policy of e-mailing them 24 hrs prior to your arrival to arrange an out of hours collection. This information is not highlighted even when you make the booking with an out of hours collection time. It is written, but is in the conditions. You’d think with such a bonkers policy they’d make it crystal clear. When I arrived there were people there that had had their rental agreement cancelled because they didn’t show up the night before because were not aware of the e-mail requirement. When arrive and realise you should have e-mailed them the day before there H’s no point of contact. You call the number out of hours and it simply says: please e-mail us. Secondly, when you do finally get to collect your car and pay the deposit you gave 3 options: 1/$1000 deposit only payable by credit card. I don’t have a credit card. 2/ $500 deposit with a $25 excess charge for everyday of the hire. Non negotiable m even if you have already taken out insurance. 3/ $ 250 deposit with a $35 excess fee for everyday of the hire non negotiable. So I had an extra non refundable $225 to pay when I collected the car even though I already had extra insurance on it. A joke company I would never recommend or use again. I can only imagine the only way they still operate is because of all the extra hidden charges

Positive Car Rental experience in Miami Florida

Having seen a lot of negative reviews for this company I thought I should add my own review on how my experience went and how positive and hassle free it was.So I made the booking for my rental through stress free car rental for my trip to Miami and Auto Union was the cheapest option of those companies rated Good or higher. My initial choice was for a 2WD Toyota RAV4 costing me just £70 for the week with insurance included. When I collected the car I was actually given an immaculate Nissan Rogue 4WD (Also known as X Trail in the UK). The car was brand new inside and out and had only done 20,000 miles from new with keyless entry and go, laser guided cruise control and Bluetooth. For £10 a day i was expecting something on its last legs and this wasn't at all. The same car from Alamo or Enterprise would have cost 5x the amount I paid. Very quick and simple collection ( they are an off site company and I'll cover that later on) but paperwork was very quickly done. No upselling or anything like that. They took over 20 images of the car when i collected it and sent them to me on email. The guy in the office also told me to do the same thing with my phone so I had my own record which was very good customer service. Had no issues at all with the car the entire trip and when I came to drop the car off he just walked around it, checked id filled it up and then said everything was fine and drove me to the airport. If I was to nit pick the collection instructions were not the clearest (it said to ring them once id collected my luggage, however I actually had to get on the monorail to the rental centre and then call them from there but this is something anyone renting a car has to do)Ill be honest looking at all the negative reviews on here and only paying £70 for a family sized SUV for the week worried me but I would definitely use this company again. To be clear I paid in total £220 for my car for the week however I paid approx £20 a day for an unlimited toll pass which all renters will charge but I think £220 for an SUV for a week with no toll charges and fully comp insurance is amazing value

My rating is zero

My rating is zero. After arriving, I waited at the airport for three hours for someone to pick me up, even though I'd sent them my flight number, so they knew what time I was landing. Total ignorance. Once we arrived, we received a battered, barely functioning Fiat Panda with less than half a tank of fuel. The rental price with full insurance was twice as much as what Carjet was offering. I was cheated, but after standing like an idiot at the airport for over three hours, I wanted to leave as soon as possible. I received the rental agreement after returning to Ireland, only because I wrote to them, sending my address again. They explained that they had the wrong address. Seriously, it's impossible, they're just scammers, and Carjet says they're not responsible for carriers. Very convenient.

We hired a car with autounion Samos…

We hired a car with autounion Samos Greece, it was a no show. They were not at the port to meet us with the car as arranged. The phone number provided by economy car rentals, no one answered the phone. We had to cancel as there was no car. Autounion lied and tried to blame us.They would not give us our deposit back. We heard on Samos of others having bad experiences with autounion. I would never reccomend this company.
