Very poor customer service, we moved out of the flat 2months ago and till today we still haven't received our deposit. The Worcester park branch is not very helpful to get our deposit, they only said that they can't do anything because they're waiting for the landlord, if they reply it will take days and their reply was not helpful and they don't bother to give any solution, and during our stay we had a hard time because our boiler got broken multiple times and getting to them is so hard as usual they reply after days and weeks.
Very disappointing, sent inquiry form right move, took 24hrs to respond back and insisted i see their mortgage advisor face to face before viewing property.Convinced them i required a small mortgage and wish to see the property first. Booked me in and no confirmation email, just ignored.
Use this estate agent Barnard Marcus Seldon branch at your peril for renting. They took my deposit of £260 and refused to give it back stating I lied about my salary on my application form.. When I asked for proof of this as it was not true they refused to show me my application form which would prove I did not give them false information. I took them to the County Court and they were issued with a CCJ. Only then did they return my deposit. This cost £35 to do and I got this back as costs. They had to pay me as they knew they had no proof. Please be aware.
Met up with Jocelyn from the Croydon branch (lovely young lady and well mannered) and she was extremely informative about the structure of the property that we viewed and easily made me and my Wifes decision much easier than expected.
Very poor communication, no understanding of the tenants deposit scheme quoting wrong information and not paying in time, still not received. And not replying to emails and answerphone messages. Do not use. This was the Sutton branch
Many thanks to Adrian at Streatham Barnard Marcus. He brought professionalism and courtesy to the fore during the sale of my house, my first move in 31 years. I was always kept in the loop on what was happening, he was friendly with a good sense of humour at all times, but above all managed the sale of my house, in a way where I felt very little stress and had trust it was being dealt with well.
I instructed them to let my flat. There were a few things that I was concerned about in terms of their professionalism but ignored it. However I got an offer for my flat from them and was told the references and comprehensive checks were coming. They came the night before the tenants were due to move in (despite me chasing constantly). They failed then affordability checks, and were not certainly not comprehensive but I was told that was what insurance was for. I withdrew and said I felt sorry for the tenants, and got told by Anton he “did not give a sh@t about the tenants” and him telling me how great he was . In addition, despite having my number they kept calling my partner rather than me… I complained and they completely did not answer my complaint in any way, shape or form. Finally, my partner got a call from someone who used to work in Anton’s branch to say she had moved as she could not work for him, and they got lots of complaints about him. Completely different to what they said in their response to me. I finally let my flat for more than they marketed it for and with great tenants. AVOID
If I could give 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would. I sold my flat with BM and the sales team in Wallington was always there to take my calls, answer any questions I had and always showed professionalism to the highest standards. Alex, Katie, and especially Kyle at sales went out of their ways chasing solicitors almost on the daily basis, provided not only professional advice but helped me get through the days when I thought we will never complete due to unprofessional solicitors and long waiting times. Their commitment to selling my property was visible from the first contact until the last phone conversation after completion. Thank you Kyle and everyone at Barnard Marcus

I no longer use Barnard Marcus Putney as a managing agent. However. I have had to go back through figures for tax purposes and discovered discrepancies in their payments to me.In 2021 I was receiving 1'291.40 in rent from them except for February when I received 1'219.40.In 2018 I was receiving 1'300.51 in rent from them except for October when I received 1'200.51.Slip of the accountants finger or fraud?
