I’ve ordered from Basco several times & been pleased with the quality of the goods but their customer service is poor. If something goes wrong, they are not prepared to properly resolve. My last order had 2 expensive joints of beef that were materially underweight. The order also went to the wrong address which we had to track down & spent 2 hours driving to retrieve. The address details were pre populated by their system and were correct in terms of the street address & village name. What I didn’t spot is that the postcode was wrong but as there is only one village in the UK with this name, I had no reason to check the postcode. Apparently it’s my fault as they are not liable for their system error as per their T&Cs! Mistakes happen but it’s how they are resolved that counts. Will not use them again.
I have been using Basco for a couple of years now and they never fail,I must mention Jo who is always on hand to advise about products and help Jo has a vast knowledge of all the fabulous Spanish products that they sell and she is so helpful and is who i always try to deal with when i call them for advice, the rest of the team are also great.If you are looking for the finest Spanish ingredients look no further than Basco they are brilliant its all gourmet and delicious the best of Spain on your plate and sure to impress if you are doing a Spanish themed dinner All the Tapas ingredients such as the iberico ham, the chorizo, Manchego , olives black pudding etc incredible , the anchovies etc stunning the Caribinero prawns are absolutely unreal good and i promise if you have never tried one you should , the suckling pig is amazing and so easy to cook and get juicy meat with crackling thats like glass and divine ,the salt cod croquettes wow, the cooking chorizo is brilliant the wines sherrys pedro ximenez all of it is amazing, i am ordering the lamb soon for a dinner and im sure that will be just as good. I could carry on listing all the great produce they supply but honestly its all fantastic and all delivered on time packaged and chilled.I love the way the Spanish eat the quality and it’s so good to find basco and Jo they bring the best of Spain to your doorstep and are great to deal with.Looking forward to many years of dealing with them.
Had a good experirience the first time I ordered 5kgs of Iberico pork.Recommended to 2 different friends of mine and they order 5kgs each too.I have never received the referral discounts from Basco, even after calling them and emailing several times about it. I'm not ordering from this company anymore.
I was scheduled to get a delivery of items last week. They didn't appear on the day I thought they were going to. Hardly the end of the world.A quick call to Alex & Jo at the office. Problem solved.The goods arrived LESS THAN 24 hours later, whats not to like.Thanks to Alex & Jo for efficient response
just wanted to give you a feed back about this rubia gallega 1kg i eat last night , i work with steaks for many years between hakwsmoore , flat iron and mitchells & butlers and i must say this steak in particular was way to much fatty and not too much meat and taste was so so , maybe i got a piece that didnt have a good life who knowsBut i found important to let you know that £60 is a bit overpriced for what you getAnd wow !!! Not even an apology !!!Well done!!!!
