We are on holiday in York and decided to visit Bella Italia in York for dinner tonight. We (my wife and I and our two adult children) were greeted as we entered by a very friendly member of the team (Asian - didn't get his name). He asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't, but he found a table for us and took us over. After we browsed the menu for a while, a really friendly Italian-looking team member came to our table (again, I didn't get his name) and asked if we were ready to order. He asked us where we were from and had a chat about that while he took our order. The same man also served our food throughout our visit, and continued to make conversation with us. All four of us had pasta dishes and the food was delicious! We finished our meal with some lovely desserts as well.I would highly recommend anyone to visit Bella Italia in York - we will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.
I will NEVER return to Bella Italia after tonight! I left the place in tears. We went to Bella Italia in Bletchley next to MK Stadium, where we’ve been multiple times before. We went to celebrate our eldest son’s A Level results and there were 11 of us in total. We were going to use Tesco Clubcard vouchers and had exchanged them all for this meal specifically as we don’t go out to eat often due to my health problems. Unfortunately our waitress wasn’t great from the start, but I remained polite and friendly. Almost every drink we ordered was apparently out of stock, I then took my daughter to the womens toilets and there was no toilet roll at all. The food was ok, my pizza was dry but the dessert was nice. They forgot one of the desserts and the waitress wasn’t apologetic when she finally brought it out. She also never offered us any other drinks, so we spent almost 3 hours there and only had one drink. My husband went up to the bar a couple of times to ask for some water as we weren’t offered any. I’m coeliac and told her this and she didn’t give me an allergen aware sign like she gave to the people on the table next to us. When we went to pay, we mentioned the Clubcard vouchers to her and she said because we were a table of 11 we couldn’t use the vouchers. She was incredibly rude and condescending. I questioned this as we’re a large family and have used the vouchers often as we don’t really use them anywhere else. She told me it’s in the terms and conditions and that I should’ve read them and that I should’ve told her when we arrived and she would’ve told us we couldn’t use them. She was incredibly unsympathetic and heartless. My husband told her he would have to transfer the money to my bank as he didn’t have his bank card with him. The waitress decided to stand almost right behind my husband and was hovering over him while he was doing his online banking transaction. My son who’s autistic then pushed his chair out to get up to go to the toilet. He didn’t realise she was right behind him so the chair hit her and instead of her realising she was far too close, she was rude to our son and stayed where she was. I ended up in floods of tears as I felt it had completely ruined what was meant to be a lovely celebratory evening for us and now our son feels guilty for suggesting we go to this particular Bella Italia. But we’ve never had any issues there before this. The waitress decided to glare at us with an evil grin as we walked off. I feel like she enjoyed it to be honest, which is just evil and nasty. I never want to return to this place and until they employ some nicer, more professional staff I will be advising others to go elsewhere. We spent £300 and they took a £30 service charge, which I would’ve asked to be removed if I wasn’t so upset. I wish I could’ve recorded how rude the waitress was. Her name was Natalie I believe, according to our receipt. Now I remember, when we arrived and were seated, the light above me was flashing constantly, which could cause an epileptic fit for someone who has epilepsy. Flashing lights bring on migraines for me and my mum, so I asked the waitress if it could please be turned off and she said she would try to dim it. I thanked her and even thanked her again when she came over to take our drinks order (the only drinks order). But I did notice that her and another waitress were looking at me and whispering as they sorted the light out and I did feel a bit uncomfortable but brushed it off at the time. But by the end of the night of course I realised that she seemed to either have it in for me, or just wasn’t a nice person. Either way, it didn’t feel nice and I had been nothing but polite and friendly towards her. I’m sure the manager could have come over and sorted it and hopefully spoken to us like we aren’t a piece of dirt on the bottom of their shoe. Anyway, as I say, we will never ever return and it’s an incredible shame.
Been to bella Italia in Brighton in the summer. Food was ok but they didn't honour a voucher I had which they should have as there was nothing in the terms and conditions stating it couldn't be used. So that was disappointing and ruined the experience. £ stars as food was ok
9th.August 2024My wife and I had a meal at Bella Italia Basildon. We had 2 glasses of HouseRed wine which tasted like weak ribena. We told the waiter about it and he said it's Merlot and that is what it tastes like.My wife had garlic bread which was very small, my wife had carbonate which was huge but lacking in taste. My seabass was miserably small for a main course with boil potatoes. We did tell the waiter of our experience but he was not concerned and charged us the full price. We were very disappointed and dissatisfied and in future we shall avoid all Bella Italia.
Mark always makes our night out great, making us feel welcome with good humour and courtesy. Nothing is too much trouble and he’s always checking that everything is alright.Mark is a wonderful person who always lifts our mood, thank you Mark & the Peterborough team. Sarah& Kevin Watts
Customer service is atrocious, staff are very unfriendly and do not seem willing to help. This is the Bella Italia in Birmingham City Centre. Honestly save your money and spend it somewhere where they’d at least greet you with a smile and be nice - it’s like they don’t want customers!
Asked for free icecream using coupon which waitress saw and said okay. Did not say whatsoever that we couldn’t redeem the offer when we already used main course coupon. This should have been clearly stated or else we wouldn’t have gotten icecream. So was charged for the icecream. Waitress was nice but probably misunderstood but the other staff should fix what happened not charge me for waitress mistake. Staff / managers very unhelpful and rude. Also was told we will get refunded but did not so staff are liars too. Paddington Branch do not go!!!
This review is for the Bella Italia inside Center Parcs at Sherwood ForestLiked: Our serving lady was nice and attentive.Disliked: I had Pollo Funghi. It looked uninspiring and it tasted like something a kid could have knocked up. It reminded me of condensed mushroom soup with slices - yes, slices, out-of-a-packet slices of chicken had been put into it with a few mushroom pieces. The chicken was supposed to be pulled chicken but I assure you it wasn't, it was processed and out of a packet. There was no sign of anything green, it was supposed to have been enriched with Mascarpone cheese and parsley - it wasn't. I had visions of a lovely looking pasta dish with tasty pulled chicken in a delicious sauce with Mascarpone cheese swirled in and attractively and invitingly garnished with fresh parsley. What turned up was a greyish and totally uninspiring looking bowl of pasta. The pasta was so overcooked I could barely see its original shape and as I say, the chicken was definitely sliced out of a packet - what bit there was of it! The mushrooms were ok. The sauce - as I said already, looked and tasted like condensed soup. I ate most of it because I was hungry. We were too tired to complain about it. My DIL's Spaghetti Bol was not much better, basically a big bowl of spaghetti and barely any sauce or meat in it and it was bland. Grand daughter's Carbonara pretty much the same, very poor. My son said the Pizza was good at least. We asked for a side of garlic flatbread to be brought out with the mains, it wasn't and it had to be eaten before the mains or it would've been cold. Conclusion: We would not eat there again. Very disappointing and on our last night too.
