Bella italia, The Stage, Wigston.I've been a few times before, but this time it felt like the poor relation.How can a restaurant function with almost half their white wine list missing. No Tiramasu latte either, why bother advertising l.I had asked if there was anything they didn't have before we ordered; however I didn't ask about drinks. We changed from the table we were offered as it was dirty. It had been laid, just not wiped. Needed a good scrub really Staff were uninterested and not bothered about service. They weren't busy, but no attention was paid to clearing away or cleaning. This was my last visit.
I have never been to an Bella Italia before and came as part of a theatre package I was given. I will never go to one again. I know they are a low cost chain, but low cost should not mean low quality. If I could give the food minus stars I would. I cannot believe the other reviews regarding the quality of the food. The dough balls were stale and hard. The pizza was terrible, I suspect cooked a few days ago and re-heated. On the plus side the waiter was polite and apologetic, and offered to replace the dough balls with another starter or a dessert but at this stage we were just keen to finish and get out.The restaurant itself is slightly cramped, but to be expected for a central London eatery I guess.Overall because of the food quality I cannot recommend.
Went to the newly opened Witney Bella italia and was extremely disappointed, the food was okay nothing special but not bad. The service was not good, starters took an hour to arrive only after complaining did they come. Main course took another 25 mins to arrive. Obviously the kitchen was struggling to cope but not once did anyone come to apologise or offer us a drink or something to compensate for our wait. We cut our meal short and had dessert and coffee somewhere else. When we paid the bill the lady apologised for the wait and said they had Obviously booked too many for them to cope with. It didn't help that when we were waiting for our food several deliveroo drivers turned up for deliveries. Please stop doing deliveries when you can't cope with the customers you have in your restaurant. Before you say you can do both, YOU CAN'T. Decide take away or restaurant which is it?
