Review Time
I ordered some bulbs and fittings, the bulbs arrived promptly and were well packaged but I thought that they were complete with the fittings. After speaking to a very pleasant and polite person I was informed that they could no longer supply the fittings and would send me a returns label. This arrived almost immediately. I returned the bulbs and received a refund within a couple of days. Excellent service.
Yesterday I ordered some Calex LED filament dimmable candle bulbs from BLT, having checked that they were in stock and therefore could be shipped quickly.
Today I received an email “Dear Sir there is a one week delay on the Calex lamps. Please accept our apologies for this delay. kind regards wendy”
I have just checked the website and the bulbs are still being flagged as “In Stock Available for delivery”.
This has happened before. The last time the product remained flagged as available throughout. Originally, I was inclined to believe it to be some sort of ineptitude in updating stock levels on the website. However, it seems that BLT are willing to show products as “In Stock Available for delivery” when clearly they are not, presumably to encourage customers to buy from BLT and not their competitors.
This behaviour is unacceptable.
Ordered a hard to find discharge lamp ballast and a couple of miniature fluorescent tubes but BLT e-mailed to say they have refunded the cost of the ballast. I have e-mailed them back to enquire if they have an alternative product but I have not received a reply. If I had known they couldn't get the ballast I would not have ordered the tubes as I don't want to pay £4.49 shipping on two £4.83 tubes! I understand mistakes happen but they should have contacted me to discuss available options rather than just generating an automated refund then radio silence.
