I ordered my HOOBS Pro on ***July 27, 2023***. It is now 2026. I have no device, no refund, and no meaningful communication.

When I've contacted HOOBS support requesting a refund, I get silence — or the same scripted non-answer that dozens of other customers have documented here on Trustpilot. Read the other 1-star reviews. The pattern is identical: stall, deflect, disappear.

HOOBS continues to sell the Pro as a "preorder" while customers from 2023 are still waiting. That's not a supply chain problem — COVID ended years ago. That's a company collecting money for a product it either can't or won't deliver, while using new preorder revenue to stay afloat. There's a word for that.

I have filed formal complaints with consumer protection agencies in both the US and Canada. If you're a fellow victim, search for the FTC complaint portal and your state Attorney General's office — both accept reports online. It is simple and convenient.

Do not give this company your money. If you already have, document everything and report it. The only thing working against HOOBS right now is the paper trail we're building together.

HOOBS regularly responds to reviews here on Trustpilot disputing the word 'fraud.' Fair enough — let's use more precise language instead:

Breach of contract — they accepted payment, agreed to deliver a product, and didn't.

Deceptive trade practices — the same scripted delays used on hundreds of customers.

Unjust enrichment — they've kept the money without providing what was purchased.

Unfair business practices — still actively selling a product they haven't delivered since 2023.

Call it whatever you'd like, HOOBS. The regulators at the FTC, FBI, Florida Attorney General, Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, and Quebec Office de la protection du consommateur will use their own terminology.

My order number is 61862. My money left my account on July 27, 2023. I have no product and no refund.
That's not a dispute about words. That's a fact.

Extremely Disappointing Experience

I’m giving 1 star only because 0 isn’t an option. My experience has been frustrating: I’ve been waiting over 2 years for my order and still have not received it. The only responses I’ve gotten are vague assurances and generic messages stating that my order will arrive, but without any specific details or a delivery date.

Only one star because I can't give zero...

I'm giving one star because zero isn't an option. My experience as a customer has been awful: I've been waiting over two years for my order and still haven't received it. The only responses I've gotten are vague promises and generic messages stating that my order will arrive, but with no real information or delivery date.

My purchase back in 2021...

I bought my box back in 2021 as it integrated everything I needed into my home system. I didn't realize that four years later it would still be crucial to my automation. The service does an excellent job of keeping the software updated, and community plug-ins are now far superior compared to four years ago.

I placed an order in September 2023. Now, almost December 2025, I've sent numerous emails for updates and received only scripted replies. The company is still operational and selling products, yet very few customers seem to be receiving theirs. I strongly advise against buying from them!

It's a scam!

This is a scam! Don't buy from these fraudsters... I've been waiting a year for my product to arrive. Customer support always replies with standard messages saying, 'Your order is on its way soon.' I asked for a refund, but they haven't responded.

STEER CLEAR - This company is a SCAM.

I placed an order for a product on 10/24. They haven't provided any shipping details. The status on their site has been stuck on 'Your order is being prepared...' since then. When I contacted support, they deflected to issues with shipping policies. I have no idea if or when it will ship. When I requested a refund, they told me it would take over 15 business days, with no guarantees. It feels like they've taken my money without any intention of shipping. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

Fraudulent behavior!

If I could give zero stars, I would!! Beware!! Do not engage with this company! How can they take money from customers for YEARS without delivering any product? I bought a product in 2023, and after six months, the update was 'it's coming on the next shipment.' After a year, it was 'being reconfigured.' Nearly two years later, the excuses remain the same. They refuse to issue refunds upon request. Their responses are always vague—'no date but it’s coming'... I have been requesting a refund or the actual product daily. No refund. Terrible company! Fraud!

I relate to many others here. I ordered my product on June 13, 2023—over two years ago. I've sent numerous requests for updates and refunds, but all I've received are canned responses with no action taken. They are STILL ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS AND TAKING MORE MONEY! This is the worst abuse of consumer trust I've ever experienced. This company should be ashamed and face serious legal consequences for stealing what must be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, from customers.

Returning? Good luck with the refund.

This review focuses on customer service rather than the product itself. I purchased it to connect several lights to my home system. After a day of trying to make it work, I realized it was cheaper and easier to replace the lights. That's when the issues began with my return. I requested a return authorization and followed their instructions. It took them over a week to acknowledge receipt after USPS confirmed delivery and promised a refund 14 business days later. It took me over two and a half months to finally receive my refund, only after filing a complaint with my payment provider. Despite multiple emails promising it was being prioritized, their customer service was terrible.
