Placed order May 28. then email comes 2 days later that 1 item is back ordered. Gives date when expected. So I wait a week. Day comes and then 2 days later changes "back ordered date" changes to "no current ETA", so I call to have the items removed so the rest can ship. Few days later it ships using UPS mail Inovations from GA to VA. A week later the shipping status hasn't changed. Now past 3 weeks, still no parts. Learned from my mistake, Ordered from Honda marine dealer in York Va. parts came in 2 days. Boats.net may have discount parts, but you cant sell parts you don't have or cannot control inventory. Your choice to use UPS mail inovations as your free shipping method is killing you softly. I drove 30 minutes to my local post office to see why shipping status "USPS accepted pending" for 3 days. then those folks at USPS shipped it from our local PO to Richmond distribution, only to be shipped back to them in 2 days. So a little under a month to get boat parts. I lost a month of boating because of selling stuff they dont have, supply chain BS they have had since before COVID and using the most Indeterminate free shipping available.
I’ve done 2 orders over the last few months with boats.net. Pricing was good, especially considering I was ordering some hard to find tohatsu outboard parts. I did need to return one item which was easy. Refund came through no problem.
I have ordered numerous boat parts over the last few years with boats.netI am blown away by their service and quick turnaround on orders. Made a large order again last week for a Yamaha outboard parts and there were a couple of the items that ended up being on back order and would be a delay in receiving them. They shipped out everything else immediately and it all shipped out the same day I ordered. Paid for expedited shipping which was way less than most sites charge. Called today to see if I could get something added to the balance of the rest of order when it shipped so I wouldn't have to pay for another shipping charge. no problem they said. added the item to the order and ships out today. Can't believe this place. Very good prices on parts with lightening fast shipping and above average customer service. Thank you Boats.net!
They lie and say they have product that they don't have. I contacted to ask why it wasn't shipped and they said they are awaiting if from the manufacturer even though they said they had it available. Then they lie about the availability date and when you call them out they give nothing of value and still haven't sent the product that was paid for.
