It was amazing ! The crew were incredibly funny and committed with their roles. It is also a great idea to have mixed groups on the tables. Overall the experience is unique and incredible fun, even better if you actually love Fawlty Towers.
A frustrating experience with unfulfilled potential. The original humor was lacking, overshadowed by an emphasis on a theatrical romantic style. The narrative felt shallow and did not delve deeply into the original storyline. There was excessive downtime with few chances for interaction. One character was enjoyable but poorly integrated into the plot. Another character provided some entertainment but mainly served to facilitate transitions. I believe that with minimal effort, improvements could be made. It also appeared to cater to a younger audience, despite the majority of attendees being older.
Outstanding production! Creative, humorous, and fast-paced… Puck captivates with his quirky charm! The cast utilized the venue perfectly… I truly felt part of the experience. Bottom is hilarious, effectively bringing everything together… wonderful costumes and props… loved the dark fairies… loved it all!
A lost opportunity. Lacked enough of the original style and leaned too heavily on comedic romance. The story felt thin and lacked detail regarding the original. There was too much waiting around with limited interactions. One character was great but not woven into the narrative. Another character was excellent but mainly facilitated movement rather than being involved. I think it could be improved with relatively little effort. It also seemed directed at a younger audience while the majority were older.
Technically impressive. Singing was excellent and dancing lively. However, context and continuity were lacking, and it failed to deliver laughs. The insightful, groundbreaking humor that made the original so special was missing. The rapid, loud delivery of one character worked only occasionally to clarify the plot. Why not feature the central guidebook to assist the audience? It would have been a much better fit with the original. Some less familiar with the story mistook the setting for a waiting room. There was no sense of improbable transport, nor of the character's role in it all. The arrival on a certain ship was poorly executed. There was a lot of inactivity until an unexpected group of singers appeared. One character was sadly underutilized. The narrative struggled, culminating in a loud, flashy ending that felt uninspired. The best I can say about this adaptation is that it was mostly entertaining.
