Good they integrated the switch from a fibre to cabinet/copper wire provider to a mobile 5g broadband provider in a managed switching process. Not so good that the switching process was patchy with the new service being commissioned several hours after the scheduled time with the customer being left to chase the new provider for an explanation. The offer from broadbandgenie of a voucher took 3 months to come through. The offer they curated included a credit against the last bill from the outgoing supplier, but the nature of the last bill is ambiguous since the final 'bill' is a credit for days not due, but charged in advance. No credit has been received as yet. The positive is the new service is literally 10 times the speed of the old, has real support on tap if required and is cheaper too - no regrets.
Great prices, but the online ordering system didn't work for me so ended up calling (35 mins). Also, they have advertised a £100 voucher for signups but apparently, the gift card is reduced by 50% when you order using the phone number published. The agent's "Manager" confirmed that for phone based orders, the amount drops to £50, although the webpage doesn't mention this reduction (I have a screen -shot to prove this)This was a huge disappointment after a very long call (35 mins). Also, the line felt like a voice changing software was being used. I also felt very uncomfortable when she asked me to create a password, memorable word, my bank account details (for direct debit), my birthday, full address, email and phone number on the same (recorded) phone call. I hope they are keeping their customer call recordings safe, as I felt really uncomfortable sharing all of this personally sensitive data. It will be a personal information paradise for any potential hackers!
UPDATE: I emailed Peter as per the response and following his advice I have been able to sign up with Vodafone online. Will have to wait to see if the vouchers arrive. Fingers crossed. Tried for a week to sign up with Vodafone via Broadband Genie because it had a very attractive deal with a £130 voucher. Completed the application process many times, including setting up Direct Debit, but everytime you get to the end there is a message to say there is an error. Vodafone can’t help because it is a Broadband Genie issue. Broadband Genie staff can’t help because it is an online application! The person I spoke to said the good offers like Vodafone very rarely complete. Sound to me like it’s a con to get you to give up on the voucher deal and go with another deal. I’m off to sign up via a more reputable comparison site.
I found a broadband deal for sky on MSE which had a sign up through Broadband Genie; their website would give the offer with a £95 / £120 voucher and when you click the link to Sky if would be £80 voucher (when it worked and didn't crash). We contacted Broadband Genie on their contact number, we got into a 'Third Party Company, Not Broadband Genie' / contact centre' they we not aware of the website or what is on it and had not contact information for their website or 'Broadband Genie' direct support, it appeared to be a call centre they noted they were in South Africa (I wouldnt mind but they couldnt / wouldnt help, as they dont have the same offers as online) they are the 'New Sales Team on behalf of Broadband Genie' This company is dissolved on Companies House. They could only 'sell us the offers online' but could not offer the offer we have found on the Broadband Genie website, that is on the website, not had any replies yet. They told us to use the online chat for the website, but when asked they didn't know how to do that, or if the website even has one! I was not able to find one and I'm fairly tech savy. They then wanted me to then email Broadband Genie email. This is one of the worst companies I have come across! and then that also then gives Sky a bad name and less trusting of their offers.
Found a deal on the website with Sky offering a reward voucher. When I clicked through the 'Get deal' I was taken to a reward site that offered a deal that was £15 less than the one advertised on the website.I attempted to resolve this via the phone number provided on the website but this connects you to a different company (New Sales Team) and they have no way of contacting Broadband genie. They can't access the same offers as those on the website and don't have a complaints team and simply directed me back to the website to email broadband genie.Would not recommend using them at all.Edit after below reply: I will send the screenshots to the address provided. Unfortunately cannot upload here.
