Customer service was great,but to charge $40 to cancel your policy is highway robbery I cancelled my car policy but didn't get charged then I get charged $40 for the house one.might look at someone else for the house insurance.not really happy
I recently purchased my home insurance with this company, and I chose them because their pricing is extremely competitive compared to others in the market. The value for money really stood out straight away.
The website was very easy to navigate, straightforward, and simple to use. The entire process of getting a quote and setting up the policy was smooth and efficient.
I also needed to call customer service to request that my policy start earlier than originally scheduled. The team handled it immediately while I was on the phone, adjusted the policy on the spot, and sent me the updated confirmation email straight away. They even followed up afterward to make sure everything was in order.
Overall, excellent service, competitive pricing, and a hassle-free experience. Highly recommended.

No roadside assistance is offered it's purely towing and that is capped at 20km. For the price it cost for this you're better off having no cover and paying for the tow truck out right. A simple fix any roadside mechanic could've done and I've now lost the whole day of work. Mainly waiting on hold two times for an hour... I'm switching back to raa
Absolute terrible roadside assistance. Take over an hour to attend. Don’t have appropriate gear on board. Rude survive. Cancelled my roadside assistance with them & never going back.
Yes budget direct give a competitive rate. However we had an object come off a truck and smash our windscreen on our brand new car. We have to pay a $40 excess for this (no worries) budget direct called and we discussed the replacement as we have choice of repairer. They had the nerve to ask us to pay for the $2500 windscreen replacement and send them the paid invoice and claim number for them to then assess and see if the costs are justifiable and if they will pay it all. I do not recommend them and ill be changing back to shannons. Not only that but you actually get to speak with an English first speaking background person.
Budget Direct – extremely poor service
I contacted Budget Direct after another person hit our car with a trolley. We provided a witness statement, the person’s driver’s licence, and their contact details.
Despite this, Budget Direct advised we still have to pay the $1,300 excess. They were not willing to contact the person responsible or even attempt to recover the costs.
Very disappointing experience. We’re being asked to pay for damage that was clearly not our fault.
I would not recommend Budget Direct to anyone. Save your money and go with a more reputable insurer.
Go with any other company, terrible company. I had to call 9 times to try ans get my car towed and was told to drive my crashed car to the mechanic???? Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else.

They are lightning-fast at taking your money and completely useless when you actually need help. The claims process is a nightmare — slow, incompetent, and designed to wear you down until you give up.
Customer service is either painfully unhelpful. No accountability, no empathy, no support. Just excuses while you’re left stranded.
If you value your time, money, or sanity, stay far away. This company exists to collect premiums, not to honour claims. Never, ever go with them.
