My husband and I arranged a full day of caravan training with Dave. Initially, I planned to just accompany him, but after chatting with Dave, I decided to participate in the training as well. Our morning was dedicated to the theory part, and it's eye-opening how many things you can learn. Dave then demonstrated how to attach the caravan to the car. We practiced reversing and parking, and soon hit the road. My husband, who had never towed a caravan before, went first, and Dave's guidance made him excel. When it was my turn, I felt more enthusiasm than fear, brimming with confidence due to Dave's calm and supportive approach.Worried about breaks or meals? No need, as everything is seamlessly planned. I had taken a flask of coffee for the journey, and it truly was worthwhile. Standing at just five feet, I never imagined I'd ever consider towing a caravan. I had also never driven an automatic before, but now I'm eagerly looking forward to purchasing our own caravan and sharing the driving experience with my husband. As the day concluded, Dave awarded us a certificate for our completed training, leaving me with a great sense of accomplishment. I wholeheartedly recommend Dave to everyone; he is kind, humorous, knowledgeable, experienced, and patient.

I have just completed Dave's one day course on caravan safety and towing. Having never owned a caravan or towed anything in my life it was all very new to me. As I am approaching 70 years old, I was not sure whether I would have the confidence to tow a caravan! The morning was spent on understanding the basics of caravaning which Dave has captured within his latest publication (available in preparation for the course and after payment!). An experienced caravaner himself, Dave was able to articulate the required detail in an easy to understand way. Having completed the theory we then went towing! I could not believe the size of the caravan (twin axle, 8 metres); we covered the theory of reversing with tight manoeuvres including tight 90 degree turns. Dave's style of tuition was both relaxed and very professional and slowly built-up my confidence. There followed some 80 miles of driving from narrow lanes through towns, open roads and even a blast on the motorway. We drove home through narrow lanes as dusk and then night fell. I now feel confident in going to purchase a caravan - not a small one but probably a twin-axle model. Very many thanks Dave - you are truly a great ambassador for caravaning and a great teacher.
I found the days course really interesting and useful as I was a bit apprehensive about my ability to tow a caravan. David takes you through the theory and useful facts in a clear straight forward manner, welcoming any questions you might have. The practical element of hitching up the caravan was clearly demonstrated where participation is required. Towing the caravan under Davids supervision became pleasurable once I’d gotten the feel of things. Our 85 mile drive covered A roads, dual carriage ways and motorways, so a good cross section of what would be encountered. I’m no pro, but I’m confident that I can tow a caravan safely so the course was very worthwhile.
It was a Day that went beyond my expectations and I learned so much more than I thought I would, particularly on the theory side. I was welcomed by Dave, who put me at complete ease, as a woman on her own, this meant a lot, as there is always that anxiety, but from the telephone conversation to Dave, on the initial booking through to the day training itself, I felt comfortable, confident and completely safe . I booked this training mainly to get practice and expertise in the driving/towing , especially reversing and parking and although I did learn this and am now confident I was amazed at how much I learned in the theory side of the training. I would thoroughly recommend Dave to anyone but from one Woman to another if your attending alone Dave is your Man :-).I also like that once the course is completed Dave still offers continued support to you should you need to contact him to speak about the trainingThank you so much Dave !
Thanks Dave for a brilliant introduction to all things caravanning. We both really enjoyed the practical driving element of the day and gained a lot of confidence from it. Thank for being so patient with us both. Kind regards, Andrew & Alison
As newbies to caravan life we were both very nervous yet excited. Booking a training day with Dave was the best decision we made! Dave is a great teacher with so much knowledge and a great sense of humour. In one day we learnt so much theory and plenty of practical experience towing and parking the caravan. 100% recommend this training day!
Being first time caravan owners we wanted to learn from a professional. David was so patient, knowledgeable and thorough. The morning was spent doing theory including many useful hints and tips about Caravanning in general. We then covered reversing, driving on country roads and the motorway and finishing with reversing into a parking bay. All in all a very worthwhile day giving me much needed confidence to tow a caravan safely. Highly recommend David and his training course 🙂
I had a full days training with Dave and I have to say it was worth every penny. I finished the day feeling much more confident about the whole "caravanning" experience.Dave was knowledgeable, patient, good company and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this area.Dave has been helpful after the day in answering queries around nose weight and other technical conundrums that have arisen. He also sensitively picked up on some of my bad driving habits that had developed over 45 years, very useful in keeping me and my family safe on the roadsI can highly recommend investing in a day with trailer Dave, just be wary of the jokes they are bad!
