Review Time
The drives were brilliant and the accompanying drivers friendly and professional. But it was a very long wait. It felt very basic and muddled. There must be a better way to organise it than making people wait for two hours in the rain waiting for their name to be called.
Want to improve your reviews? - be honest that the "optional" £29 insurance is not really optional - sort your timings. Don't tell people to arrive for 12.30 then have them wait nearly 3 hours to get near a car. -provide enough seating and shade for people while they wait- invest in a decent sound system or automated board so people don't have to huddle around for hours to try and hear their name- invest in some booster seats for the kids. A handful of Grandma's old cushions is not a good look We attended 3 sister's track. It has potential to be so much better with just some thought put into the customer experience.
Cars far from perfect condition. On arrival was told that the Lotus Evora had a technical issue. No choice I had to take the only replacement car on offer; a Mustang. I had wanted more track focused cars. Hey ho! It was what it was. My first drive was in a Porsche Caymen. It had a gearbox or fueling issue that meant that meant it bogged down horrendously on hard acceleration...disappointing. Then into the R8. I was immediately told that it had an issue with the paddle gear change and that I would have to use the stick shift. OK but not perfect. I also did not like the tone and manner of the instructor in the R8, he was overly aggressive in his delivery of the rules. I understand that safety comes first but I am 60 years old and respond better to polite conversation rather than a school teacher attitude.I did enjoy the day, but would have enjoyed it more if I had been able to drive all the cars I had chosen, or similar replacements. Also be warned, you will end up spending around £100 plus on extras like extra laps, videos, fast laps etc.
Do not use this company! We arrived at 2 as instructed, waited 45 minutes to sign in then got told to go wait till our name was called. 3 hours later we were told the track was now closed. Did not get to drive a single car. Total waste of a day. Staff extremely unorganised and unprofessional, no-one informed anyone of what was happening or that the track had closed, we heard through other customers. No refund given.
The driving experience for my two grandchildren and son in law was good but the used scare tactics to bully my daughter into buying the ‘optional’ crash waiver insurance, my daughter told them twice she did not want it, it was already an anxious day as both children have special needs and they tried to scare her by saying if anyone else crashes into the car your son is in you will be liable, totally ruined it for her as she was worried the whole time, this practice is illegal, you can’t coerce customers into buying this by scaring them to death, my daughter is on maternity pay and after paying £87 for this ‘insurance’ was short all week, they have been reported to trading standards and her bank for a charge back as you should take no for an answer! Please avoid this company, use a different one with better moral, explain the risks and if you are told twice! that it’s not required then take that as an answer don’t push to change their mind, they’ve decided and chosen but not in your eyes, you push until you get the result. Read the other reviews!!! FCA will be informed also
Had a fab time hurtling through the cones set out on a runway, driving four very different supercars! The best was the GT500 - the car that arrived in the world the same year that I did. The chrome, the hood that goes on forever, the roar of the engine and the solidity of it - built to last, just like me! Great instructors, really helpful, well-organised day and family friendly. Such a good gift for a birthday or a celebration - great opportunity for anyone who enjoys driving. Just book it!
A really poor experience for the money, at arrival at Tibenham you are told that the insurance (which is optional) must be paid for because if someone drives into your car you are responsible for the repairs. Random? That’s what I thought too!The staff at track side were absolutely fine. Once you are on your final lap you are asked if you want to do any more and they are to be paid for when you get back to the start but if the staff have let every car out then what seems to happen is you get caught up in a slow traffic jam. There you are in a Nissan skyline waiting to get past slower drivers essentially wasting a third of your lap which gets expensive! The worst part about the whole experience is that if you purchase a photo package then you probably won’t receive them. We are now at a week and haven’t received our photos, the money has been taken but no pics. Contacted car chase hero’s through their WhatsApp to be told to check my junk folder. Helpful! Why didn’t I think of that!!!I then contacted them via email which I have been ignored. Will be speaking with my bank this coming week to get money back for pics. Sad really as it could be really good experience. Better companies out there doing the same thing… use them!!!
What an amazing experience attending the Tibenham event. The team were so helpful to me and my family. Such professionalism It was good to see people having such an experience in these machines and seeing there reactions. Thank you! for providing these amazing cars.
I have done a few of these experience days now, so I have an idea what to expect but was left a bit disappointed at this weekends event.... The usual incessant push to buy damage waiver insurance, which I personally declined for a number of reasons (not allowed to go fast enough to need it being one). when you decline the insurance they ask you to write down your card details on a piece of paper which is fair enough, although now after a successful day of not damaging the cars I have no idea what's happened with my bank details. The ariel atom was the biggest disappointment of the weekend. In the atom the instructor is always in charge of the gears..... this is something that is not made clear throughout the booking process or on the "cars" page, I could only find it in small writing in the FAQ section. now while I understand the reason why they operate the atom in this way.... it absolutely kills the drive & leaves you feeling like you do not have control of the car. you were told to brake a million miles away from where you actually need to brake & always told to brake harder.... I was told off for going through a chicane at a conservative 45mph. I would of booked another car if I had known prior. In the other cars you can control the gears, you are always told when to change gear though & most of the time they tell you the wrong gear to tailor the amount of acceleration you can actually feel when you put your foot down.... now to most people they probably wouldn't notice but if you drive a fast car as a daily you will be underwhelmed with the acceleration from the supercars they put you in. The best bit about car chase heroes is the selection of cars they offer, I was really happy to see & drive the R32 GTR & the instructor was knowledgeable and the best one I had on the day by far. The car was super cool but again being told what gear to put the car in when the car has a big single turbo you spent most of the time waiting for the turbo to spool up and accelerate & by the time it did you were told to brake.... the rev limiter is also set to a disappointing 5k... still the coolest car of the day though. I am by no means the most experienced driver but for someone with some track experience & having gone round the worlds most infamous toll road numerous times I was kept well below my skill level at all times & never given the freedom to even slightly stretch the legs of the car. unfortunately my experience echoes others I spoke to as well, those that had paid for the damage waiver were also kept within the same boundaries. others stated they drove 3 hours to drive a car that was said to be available when they called in the morning, wasn't even transported to the event.
