I am a UK citizen. I had to have a French bank account as I had a French mortgage on a property. I signed up with HSBC who were very good. Now we are with CCF the service is awful. Nothing is communicated in English and when I ask the personal banker for anything they just refer to their policies, which are in French. Avoid them like the plague
We have just closed our CCF ACCOUNT because of their spectacularly poor serviceEventually they closed it on 18th June when i asked for it to be done end of month causing us problems with Amazon who had already delivered before their unilateral closure. However glad to see the back of CCF who have tarnished my 40 year relationship with HSBC!
Came for a collection of plasterboard and metal stud and the forklift truck driver helped me load it onto the van as I was on my own and struggle with a bad back , good customer service and definitely come back . Working with Vinci in wavertree so will be coming again .
Unfortunately... I gave a chance, and a second chance. Now ... enough is enough. No reply to emails, no return calls, not trying to sort the situation just letting us in the impasse. If the staff not doing a sabotage... I don't know what's called.
My complaint dates from a series of frustrations dating from the acquisition of HSBC.fr by CCF.1.I have had problems with getting sent the appropriate verifications to purchase goods, 2. In my experience CCF tend not to reply to emails, 3. As bank with "international customers" their telephone lines are open Mon-Friday 8:00 - 19:00, Sat 9:00 to 17:00, closed Sunday. This is not very customer friendly.4. I tried to change banks, but encountered problems due I believe to their non-membership of information swapping protocols with other banks, (in so far as I could understand what was happening). I gave up in frustration. Given that customer base was "sold on" it would be respectful to the old client base if they were offered the means of an easy and cost free transfer to another bank, if they are not satisfied, not an obstacle course.I have no doubt that taking on another business has its problems, but banks usually employ highly able and competent personnel and should be prepared for any challenges. In the circumstances I am not convinced that there are any really viable excuses.
Today, I finally requested CCF to close my account! Their takeover of HSBC France didn't fix any of the problems and only made things worse for the HSBC customers that migrated over, with added sneaky hidden fees! In my opinion, for a hassle-free banking experience in France, I suggest switching to Revolut or giving Boursorama a try.
Lost my online subscriptions becasue they were unable to accept cards from CCF. Rang the bank to ask them to approve my card for use online - was told that Amazon, and others, don't recognize CCF. As all of my bank accounts are now with CCF, I don't know how I'm supposed to pay for anything online?
If you live in France never use this bank. What a horrible s... show. I wanted to add my father as beneficiary and as I am an expat he doesn't have an account in France. CCF has such a small number of countries that they allow to add it from their application, it is a joke. Then you need to talk to your branch representative or send messages that they take forever to answer. They ask you to prove your dad is indeed your dad. They ask you to translate all that information in French by a sworn translator which costs so much money and time. Then they ask why would you like to send money to your own father in the first place... because they are not convinced.Basically they hold your money hostage in the name of security in which it has nothing to do with it. How do I know? Well, I am a security professional working in the industry for more than a decade that's how. Imagine your family overseas suddenly need your help and you cannot transfer a single penny because of their stupid French administration mentality. I am telling you, just avoid at all cost. Save your mental health and save your time. It costed me enough.
