Tried to use my Visa card, which used to work. Now I'm told I need to register my device (not told how) or use my 'secret code' (on what, my non registered device?). I've had nothing but problems with CCF. How have they been in operation this long?
Today I had an urgent and unpredicted need to have a bank Chèque to pay a public service in Paris. My advisor Frederic Boudon welcoming me at CCF Agency in rue Scribe, and in few minutes fulfilled my necessity with competence and professionalism. Thank you so much Frederic!!
Avoid this organisation. I have been trying to close this account for 1 year. Letters, emails and secure messages get no response. Telephone calls result in being told to write to personal advisor via secure messages service, he simply ignores the messages and the grief continues. HSBC did a good job in ditching their loyal clients to this shambolic set up. Trust your money to the mattress, the communications will be just as good 😊
The banking app doesn’t feature live amounts so the account balance is never accurate. My card stops working all the time and I am unable to use it in everyday needs. Making payments is just difficult in all forms , online and via card.
We had a HSBC account with an excellent service and it was moved over to CCF which is the worst. Simple operations takes a few days before the staff helps you and be prepared to spend hours on the phone before talking to someone who is actually willing to help. We are definitely looking for a new bank.
My experience at the Montpellier, France, CCF bank was disappointing and inconvenient. I walked in one day and asked if I might set up an appointment to open an account. They gave me a phone number of a call center to call to make the appointment instead of making one for me in the office. When I arrived for the appointment, the rep had no idea why I was there but took the paperwork I had been advised to submit. Then she asked for more which was inconvenient as I was traveling the next day. I expressed mild dismay that I had been given an incomplete list when I called as that would delay proceedings. I did not blame her, I was not angry but I did say that it was annoying as I easily could have been prepared with the proper advance information. The rep defensively explained that the number I called was just a call center and implied that they didn't know much (so why have me call them?). She slid my paperwork across the desk and suggested I was welcome to go to another bank. We got past that but she gave me a distinct impression that they didn't care whether I banked with them or not ( I was initially depositing a couple hundred thousand euros) and gave me no expectation that I would be "approved" to give them my money. I traveled to a nearby city the next day for other business but I walked into a large BNP bank, spoke to an International Banking manager who was very pleasant. After a friendly chat, he introduced me to another rep who took my information (much less than CCF had asked for), and my account was active within three days. I was treated with respect at BNP and the offerings for savings accounts were similar so of course I did not return to CCF. I sent an email asking that my paperwork be returned and was informed it had been destroyed. Before I wrote? AFTER I asked to receive it? I had written an email or two in between the meeting and the request for return of documents and received no replies at all. Good riddance.
The absolute worst. It takes several days for simple operations to happen, some functions don't even exist (like instant transfers...), the staff is super unhelpful and rude. If you're looking for a way to actually use your money instead of keeping it with them, they will try everything to make sure you can't. Wanna buy something that's over the limit? No, it took me 6 days to make it work, by the time the deadline was over. I needed to send money immediately in an urgency situation... no, the best we can do is tomorrow. AVOID this bank at all cost, it's a scam.
1 star is generous. In forty years of dealing with many banks, I have not experienced such a lack of professionalism. It has taken 2 months of constant phone calls and emails to get our money back off them. A lot of emails were simply ignored.The customer complaints department were totally useless, I would do away with them altogether for what use they are.
