Review Time
I signed up for a free trial and went to cancel on day 7, but I had already been charged. I asked for a refund and they said no. I can't deal with companies like this who are so greedy. There is so much competition in this space I just don't get this attitude.Another issue was how customer service handled it. I submitted a support ticket on day 7, the same day I was charged asking for a refund. They ignored my question in their response and gave me some generic answers to a question I didn't ask. So I had to as AGAIN in my reply and they told me no. So that's all just so dumb and annoying to deal with.
I signed up for the free trial and really enjoyed the classes. I'm loving Centr 6, the varying levels the app offers, I just wanted something I could really stick to and on days I've really NOT wanted to work out it really helps me stay motivated because you can adjust the workout to how you feel and I don't want to lose my streak and it's only 20-30 mins. I like that you can choose between the different workouts, I really enjoy the align classes when I don't have as much energy to jump around. This lockdown I've lost almost 10Kgs with the help of Centr6. If you're like me and don't really like working out I advise the centr6 program, but you will also gain access to the other programs if you want to mix it up a bit.
Absolutely amazing app taking you to your new life-style journey. It has everything you need for your wellbeing from various trainings and exercises to meditations and healthy recopies scheduled for each day. I've been using it for 1,5 years and can't be happier.
Their free trial is a scam and their customer service is awful. I cancelled within the 7-day trial and all seemed fine, then I got charged anyway and my subscription was reactivated. I wrote to their customer service and the most arrogant woman in the world said the fine print says we'll charge you anyway, but that they had been so amazingly great as to allow me to not be charged next year - but let's see, they might reactivate it again.. I have reported them to amex and app store, so hopefully they cannot hustle anyone else - great branding for a great actor, he should get out of this scam.
Awful customer service.As soon as I realised money had been taken from my account I emailed Centr straight away within the hour, I got a reply that just stated there’s nothing they can do as it’s in the terms and conditions.I think it’s awful that they automatically take your money without an email or correspondence telling you that the subscription is up for renewal, I thought I had cancelled it but you don’t go through Apple subscriptions in settings you have to login to the Centr account and cancel it on there.*They also keep your bank details so make sure you delete that off as well*I work for the NHS and worked all through Covid pandemic and thought it would be good for my mental health to use the App last year whilst all the gyms were closed but had no intention of carrying on this year. The App is very glitchy and I ended up having to log into the account most of the time to run through the programs, I also struggled to start new programs in which I contacted Centr customer services & again they weren’t much help! (The programs themselves I liked but the App & customer services are rubbish) I think if you contact them within 48hrs of realising that the money has been taken they should honour a refund because you are obviously not going to using their product. I’m now £93 down! Shame on Centr.Also please don’t reply to me stating it’s clear in the T&C’s because it obviously isn’t as so many people have had this problem.
The app is not great and very pricey. I would not recommend it as the content is not worth paying for. I learned about it because I did some training with a friend also using the free trial. I think there are other apps for training (Freeletics, Nike Training Club), Meditation (headSpace and calm) and yoga (DownDog) that are 10x better.What makes this company and service so terrible is their immoral Customer Support. They ignore 50% of my emails, stop answering when they are not pleased, send the same template answer time after time. They make it so hard to cancel, and when you realised you had been charge, there is absolutely NO way to get reimbursed. After the end of my not-used free trial, I emailed them and was very frank. "You can look in my profile. I have NOT used your app a single time in the last month. I forget to cancel my free trial. I contacted you as soon as I have seen the charge on my credit card. This is a mistake on my side; I forgot to cancel it on time. Could you please reimburse me? I didn't use it, and I am not planning to use it anymore" and from there dozens of emails without any help. Their policy "it's written that we don't do reimbursement". I tried to argue on common sense "Look, I never used the app - don't plan to use it in the future. I am not happy with it, and if I paid, I would ask for reimbursement because I don't think it's worth paying. Now, what is the value for you to have an unhappy customer who is not happy about your product, not using and don't want to pay for it and is charged anyway". The app is about mental health and well-being but is only about squeezing money out of you, answering you poorly, and treating you like poo. It's hard for me to see a company that treats their customer with that much disdain to succeed in the future but let's see. From what you can read online in Google and the review, they have turned almost all of their users into detractors.
Signed up for a trial, and went to cancel it 2 days prior to expiry as I won't use it. I was logged in and when I went to the subscription section, it kept asking me to log back in but me details didn't work. I tried multiple times to reset my password but nothing came through. I tried this for 2 days, and then they took $119 out of my account so I emailed them and explained the issue in detail. You have now refused to refund me $119 which is awful, despite me explaining the situation multiple times. It is down to your error that I could not cancel, not mine.
EDIT AFTER CENTR REPLY: Yes, your customer service "graciously agreed" to refund me, after I started posting negative reviews and comments all over the place. Too late trying to get out that way, you should have done the right thing first time. ORIGINAL REVIEW Was automatically signed up at the end of a free trial period last year - entirely my fault, of course, but I NEVER HAD SO MUCH AS AN EMAIL from Centr to confirm my subscription. As much so that I never actually used the service. So I was obviously never aware that the membership would be auto-renewed and again as obviously I NEVER received anything to remind me my SECOND yearly payment (£95), and it was duly and covertly taken from my account 10 days ago. When I contacted them asking if they could refund the yearly fee (especially as I am CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED) they were incredibly curt and patronising, just citing T&Cs back at me. Absolutely disgraceful company.
I signed up to CENTR as part of covid offer and forgot to turn off auto-renew. I barely used the app during the first year and had forgotten about it until I was charged another year's subscription on covert renewal. When I contacted CENTR their customer service was unhelpful and refused to offer a refund. The app itself was mediocre so I stopped using it after a month. There are much better apps available so my advice is to avoid.
I wonder if poster-man Chris Hemsworth knows the low morals the company holds? I enjoyed using Centr for a few months but then I got injured and didn’t use it for months. Then suddenly I’m charge a renewal fee. They could easily send out renewal warnings (especially when they have the data to see that you haven’t accessed it for months!).. but they’d rather seize the opportunity to take your cash on the sly! They even asked me for a medical letter to prove my injury before they will consider refunding it. It’s not worth the stress and effort, so I’ll hope my credit card company can sort it for me instead. Terrible customer service. Will never use again because of this.
