Chris at cosy homes was very efficient and knowledgeable

Chris came round to have a look at my house with regards to saving energy. He fitted foil behind my radiators, put energy saving bulbs in my lights, plus he put plugs in that turn standby off on the tv and side lamps when not in use. He was so helpful, knowledfeable, friendly and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to call him if I needed any more information.

Toxic & Unethical

I’ve been getting the runaround for over 10 months now since getting approval for a grant. (Edit- I’ve just taken another star off for another 5 months on top of that so 15 months in total & a winter with no heating). I’ve been holding off with a poor review because I was hoping that Cosy Homes (Rhea Projects LTD) would redeem themselves. They didn’t .It would be great if they actually paid attention to the needs of the vulnerable and disabled people they are getting paid to assist.I just got a stressful phone call from their customer service about my review. Now I’m upset by them once again because of their toxic attitude, so I’ve taken off another star. They constantly twist the narrative so I look like the problem not them. Had enough! It’s dehumanising when businesses pretend they care but to them you’re just a resource for profit, and the lies to cover themselves. Shameful.

After 3 appointments for a survey after…

After 3 appointments for a survey after receiving a letter approved by the council they finally sent someone After meeting the required eligibility requirements I.e. an oil boiler etc., asked what did I wantI replied A. Heat pump to provide underfloor heating and feed existing radiators with low level hot water saving on oil. B. Extra solar panels to provide additional 1.5kw / hr max to add to my existing 4KW pv system on the roof. C. A 15KW battery to store electricity from solar and cheap nighttime tariff D. A heat battery 300litre that can be heated from cheap electric and be used to heat existing radiatorsHowever they couldn’t or wouldn’t provided any of these. All they wanted to do was rip out the oil boiler and existing radiators and replace with heat pump and much larger radiators I said “not on your Nellie” !!!My idea would be much cheaper quicker and more reliable without all the mess. Allow the use of oil boiler until beyond economical repair or too expensive to use. Also the cheap electric would make me consider an electric car.I think the council approved letter should have made this clear and saved us a lot of time. If anyone knows who can provide with funding I’d be interested The person who came was very honest and polite so I gave them 3 starsIt must be a good business model for cosy from the quality cars they use.Update: I have contacted a nation energy supply company who are interested. Will the council still provide the grant if they submit a proposal ?In conclusion my opinion is the cosy proposal is a nightmare solution for poor and vulnerable people like usEspecially when a cheaper easier to install and more reliable is possible!!I shall be very annoyed if my council tax or income tax is being used to fund such an initiative. After researching there is a more cheaper alternative that will provide more reliable and efficient and cheaper to run than the oil boiler. Without destroying the house.

"We have lots of different funding" - but not really.

"We have lots of different funding types and the criteria to apply differs for each of them. Some are dependent on a household income and the EPC rating of your home but many are not. We have an offer for most residents." Not true - I have filled in the form including uploading a payslip and they called next day said I'm not eligible for anything even though on the website it says "We also have insulation measures which are free to everyone at present. "On government websites it says I'm eligible for some improvements (I live in a stone end terrace and pay about £400 a month in gas in the winter to get it to 18 degrees), but they were very quick to say no.The website needs to be more clear or this company picks who they work with. Edit: They have been in touch and apologised as they didn't realise I was actually eligible for a referral for loft insulation top-up. Peter gave me a lot of information on the phone and I'm now waiting to hear further.

What a shambles of an organisation!

What a shambles of an organisation!I had my funding approved early June 2024 for a new boiler. Was given an appointment and booked the day off work. The engineer did arrive who was a lovely chap, however he wasn’t given any information regarding the property, so was sent with the incorrect boiler and missing material to complete the job. The engineer advised cosy home would be in touch within a few days and reschedule a new installation date.I have been chasing this incompetent team since June, with countless emails and phones calls, with the same response over and over “we have sent this information to the operations team and will be in contact soon”It’s almost mid September, I have had zero response from cosy home. Do the operation team actually do any work? I presume not!We have a 10 month old baby and are struggling with hot water issues, clearly that isn’t a priority!I wish I reached out to another company who actually care about their customers. I would give zero rating if I could.

My COSY HOMES experience

To begin with my review for Cosy Homes Lancashire wouldn’t of been great. My appointments to do the job kept getting cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and a frequent amount of bereavements. Also the first plumber whom turned up ( I won’t name him ) was rude arrogant and only expected the job to take a day with just one person. I’d been told on initial review by senior staff that the job would take at least 2 days with 2 staff ! He wasn’t obviously in the mood to do a good job so he left which was fine by me! But then it took ages and months of freezing weather for someone new to eventually come to do the job ! And boy was I lucky as I got ‘Terry’ from Fleetwood and wow is he a hard conscientious worker! He never stopped apart from a small amount of time to eat his lunch! I’ve never known such a hard worker whom was polite easy to talk to and easy to get on with ! The weather was freezing too and at one point I offered him heat pads! He came across so many challenges in his job here due to the age and construction of our old boiler and my dads engineering around said boiler and area 🤣 ! The job took much longer than anticipated as I’d expected so I was very lucky the other chap left as he would never of done as much or as good a job as Terry did ! They say when one door shuts another one opens don’t they! There was an issue with the electrics that Terry had to pass off to the electrician Rob so that took a few extra days before Rob could attend to finish that off but he was also a lovely easy to get on with chap and that job was done quickly with ease thankfully. Apart from the plug socket not working in the boiler room ( hopefully they will be back to rectify that soon ) cosy homes staff did an awesome job and have improved my life immensely 😊👍

Speedy service and my heating works again

My boiler is fairly new but wasn't working so I called Cosy Homes. I qualified for funding so an engineer was sent. New heating controls were required and fitted there and then. House lovely and warm again which is great as the weather has turned so cold.
