A really good appointment today, although booked in for blood test our dog was quite happy before AND after the procedure. Very friendly staff and everything clearly explained to us. We left the clinic feeling positive about any future treatments. Thank you

On May 23rd 2025 we took our 19 year old cat Lily to Chorley Vets, she had lost the use of her back legs, we knew it was time to say goodbye to her. When we got to the vets they ushered us into a room that I NEVER expected, it was so peaceful, there was a sofa in there with a box of tissues on it, which were used, On the side there was a candle burning and "The Rainbow Bridge" verse. The vet came in, she was very pleasant, I explained that Lily was deaf, she said she would talk to her anyway, just as we did. We had a bit of time with Lily and then the vet injected her, Lily went very quick, the vet said she was ready to go. Chorley Vets made Lily's passing a very peaceful one for her of which we were thankful for. Not only that, a few days later a card came through the door, it was a thinking of you at this sad time card from all the staff at Chorley Vets. That's was so touching and thoughtful. A big thank you to all the staff and especially the lovely vet (I can't remember her name) who helped make Lily's final moments peaceful. 5 stars for sure. Julie, Jim and Tasha. And Lily's sisters and brother. X
I was visiting the area when my dog became really poorly. When I rang, Sharon, the receptionist was very patient, kind, understand and helpful. The vet was also very caring and informative. My dog and I were handled in a friendly and professional manner. I am so grateful to everyone. Thank you. Hazel from Luton
Brought my little fur baby is when she was just a few months old with kennel cough, to then be prescribed something that could kill her. and NOT to be told / informed of any possible side affects. Took her to a different veterinary practice to then be told because she was so young she should not have been prescribed this sort of medication. Its a good job i overthink as i might not have my baby girl with me now. JOKE!!!1
My little dog was poorly this morning and my vets would not see him, so I phoned Chorley Vets as I had heard good things about them and I know they do fantastic work on helping wildlife. They were ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! They gave an appointment which was within a couple of hours, and were so very helpful and friendly. The vet gave my pooch a thorough examination and treated him. I am very grateful 😊
We took my son's French Bulldog for a visit to have his nails clipped and to check out his ear.As soon as we walk in the reception staff came to greet us.Megan who I believe is new to the practice was brilliant and the other lady on the desk was lovely too.The vet is lovely and treats our Dog like it he is her own.We always feel reassured when we visit. We are so glad we found this vets. I would highly recommend them.
I had 2 dogs registered at this practice and thought I had found a great vet . I joined their pet plan and every month collected my dog’s flea treatment. One month I couldn’t get the flea stuff because they couldn’t fit us in for the dog s health check and I was going away .my dog who has very long hair was itchy so I had no choice but to book his appointment and leave the dog scratching- on the health check the vet decided he had a skin infection because he had red patches on his white fur . I refused to accept this as I knew he simply needed his flea treatment my dog did not need steroids that they were trying to push on us - I mentioned my dog was limping - in fact everytime I took my dog to the vet in the following weeks I expressed concern over his struggle to walk . Eventually my dog was literally hopping round on 3 legs I went back and demanded they start to manage his pain properly and not just tell me to give him HUMAN PARACETAMOL which I point blank refused to do because not all paracetamol has the dose if I had followed their instructions I would have killed my dog. I spent over £100 on pain relief but noticed it did nothing. They diagnosed a suspected ACL tear and told me he needed an X-ray. I went home to look online what on earth is an ACL only to discover an ACL repair is a major operation major rehabilitation very costly and I read I should not be walking my dog - this shocked me because I walk my dog 5 miles daily- I was literally causing him pain yet no one told me to stop walking him immediately. I believed my dog was doomed . After I reduced his exercise my dog miraculously recovered no ACL no pain - I was simply over exercising him . Now we come to my second dog whom last year was diagnosed with mast blast cell cancer . She had been with the practice since day one and hated them - So when another lump appeared this year I was concerned and took her for an examination the vet wouldn’t touch her because she was anxious both the dog and the vet - she gave me a muzzle ( my dog was not showing aggression) the muzzle didn’t fit and the dog wouldn’t be still for the vet to examine. The vet told me it’s better to remove the lump and printed up a bill for the operation I was to telephone and arrange the date after I said I wished to think about it - on getting home I realised I had agreed for a lump removal on a lump the vet hadn’t even seen or examined! I was charged £42 for an examination that the vet failed to provide and they wanted £750 to remove this lump that they hadn’t even seen ! I contacted them and asked if they shouldn’t have maybe asked the nurses to hold the dog so they could examine her , rearrange the appointment to do this , offer medication to reduce her stress before they examined her - my complaint was met with you can have a fna ( fine needle aspiration) instead at £300 again no offer to examine the dog ! I refused. This vets seem to be asking me to pay them large amounts of money when they hadn’t even examined my dog - . I cancelled the pet plan and apparently you can’t do this and this created more problems that could have been avoided if they contacted me as they said they would on email when I cancelled the plan - they denied I had cancelled and got shirty because I cancelled the direct debit mandate. So it was ok to cancel one dog’s health plan but not the other I didn’t get an explanation why -On short don’t use this vets unless you are happy to pay for un needed costly operations and invented issues- my dog didn’t have an ACL and my other dog didn’t need a lump removal. my big dog was left hopping around in agony after I continued to walk him with them advising on multiple occasions to only give him human paracetamol and his skin condition cleared up when he finally got his flea treatment . It’s not about the money my dogs are insured it’s about them leading me to believe my dogs were seriously ill and needed major operations when clearly they didn’t . It’s clear that money that matters to this vet - before the well-being of the animal- a simple don’t walk your dog could have saved my dog a lot of suffering instead I continued to walk him -if my dog did have an ACL I would have been causing a lot more damage -simple instructions that cost nothing but we’re not offered- my dog still enjoys walking but we only walk a couple of miles now we know our limits he’s almost 10 and no thanks to them is doing great .
