Absolutely Disappointed! Avoid this service for ear piercing!!! £30 for an incredibly small, short-stem stud. Consider alternatives like other local shops. I took my son to a branch in the area and immediately thought the stud looked too small, more suited for a young child. Before the piercing, there was excessive waiting, resulting in a crowd that heightened his anxiety, given his situation.
In less than two weeks, his ear became swollen and engulfed this tiny stud; I had to remove it from his lobe last night, and it was in terrible condition—gunky and discolored. After cleaning his ear, I inserted a different stud, hoping it will help reduce the swelling.
Proceed with caution when using this company.
On a recent visit to the Bluewater shopping center, went into the Claire's Accessories branch as they had a dozen '50% off absolutely everything in store' posters displayed. Knowing how horrendously over priced they normally are, I took my 10 and 7 year old inside with our litany of shopping bags.7 year old picked up a white bag labelled 'Surprise bag.'. With a price of £10 marked. However this would surely have been 50% off but yet got to a busy till and was told no it's not included despite no POS to advise of this.Daughter hesitating as £10 was all of her pocket money she had saved up and agreed to continue with the purchase. We paid her £10 and walked out the store. The 'surprise' bag was sealed so you could not see what you were buying until you opened it.She opened the bag to find a handful of earrings and end of line stock items and was disappointed as she does not have her ears pierced. How you can put piercings in a bag with an unknown audience is very strange.So we went back in queued up again to the only till open despite the busiest shopping days of the year to then ask very politely if we could just simply swap for another bag and explained she was disappointed,At this point another young girl comes out the back area tells us 'nope, cannot be refunded.' I said you did not tell us at point of sale these items were not returnable or exchangeable. She didn't have an answer. Meanwhile another staff member is spying on us kept staring at my daughter as she looked in the wheelie bin of other surprise bags as if she was going to steal something despite holding hundreds of pounds worth of shopping from other stores. Staff member maintained that if we want a different bag we pay for another. I politely declined wished them a merry Christmas and we exited the store as my child of 7 years bursts into tears. This was the worst retail experience I have had, such a lack of empathy, undertsanding, professionalism and understanding from them around consumer rights and a lacxk of basic human decency. I wasn't asking for my money back simply to exchange for items that were not useless to a child that doe snot have ears pierced.It is no wonder this company is fast disappearing from high streets. Over priced and only interested in putting money in the till.
They have ongoing the offer 'buy 3 get 3 free'. Sounds great, right? Well, the store in the Yorktown mall in Lombard had the LOL surprise dolls for $19.99 each when everywhere, even on the MGA's website their retail price is $8.99-10.99. Basically you'd have to pay full price any so the offer is not really an offer. Furthermore, I received a text on my phone that I have $10 reward valid until 12/24/2025. The cashier asked for my phone number and all but the $10 was never added to my purchase and there is no coupon code on the text to add manually. Never stepping in a Claire's store again
NO STARS!Do not use Claire’s for ear piercing!!!£30 for a tiny, teeny tiny, short stem stud.Go somewhere like Blue Banana instead.I took my son to the High Cross in Leicester branch and straight away I thought the stud looked tiny, like one for a small child. Before the piercing took place there was absolutely loads of faffing about till quite a crowd was around him, being on the spectrum this caused him some high anxiety that he had to battle to keep calm.In less than two weeks his ear has swelled up and swallowed this tiny stud, I had to force it out his lobe last night and the stud looked disgusting, gunky, black, horrid. I cleaned his ear up and put a stud of my own in and now fingers crossed it will calm the swelling down.Use this company at your own risk.
I am a frequent customer at Claire’s, but today I had a very disappointing experience at the store located inside Tesco Arena in Coventry. My daughter wanted to buy one of the “surprise bags”, so before paying I asked the girl at the till if the items inside were suitable for a child her age. She clearly said “yes”.After leaving the store, my daughter opened the bag, excited to see what was inside , only to find items clearly meant for adults or teenagers: adult-sized slippers (size 5), nail files, club-style earrings, a facial massager, and other things definitely not appropriate for a 5+ child.I went back to the store to explain that I had been misled and simply asked to return the bag so my daughter could pick something else for the same £10. The staff member wouldn’t even let me speak, refused to help, and her attitude was extremely rude and dismissive.Very disappointing customer service, especially for a store aimed at children. I expected honesty and basic respect, and unfortunately did not receive either today.Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this store again.
Unfortunately, they pierced my daughters ears and they were not even. I was upset. She is only 5 and they took at least 25 minutes to get them prepped. It was a long time and my daughter was getting nervous. The lady doing the prepping was fine and her side was fine - however, the second lady didn't seem present and didn't pierce on the dot and so they were uneven. Three members of staff agreed the piercing wasn't even but was only offered a re pierce. I said she's 5 and now she was aware of the pain of it was unwilling to do it again. i also couldn't see how they could do that without making a further mess. They said there was nothing they could do and charged me the full amount of £65. I contacted customer service with images and a copy of the receipt but no response. They must get these a lot. Because of this poor experience i will never shop here or recommend it.
Two shameless staff members lied repeatedly and attempted to refuse my refund, causing unnecessary stress and frustration. Only after I threatened legal action did they finally process the refund.The entire experience was embarrassing for them and completely unacceptable for a company of Claire's reputation. I would strongly caution anyone dealing with this branch to be prepared to insist on fair treatment.
Went into the Milton Keynes store with my excited son. Went to go and pay and the manager walked straight past me served someone else who approached after me. Then I had to ask the lady standing next to the till staring into space to actually serve me. I would have left the store had my son not been so excited for his purchase. I told my partner what happened when he approached me by the toll and the staff heard me and didn’t apologise just looked at me. I complain. It said 3-4 working days to get a reply. It’s been 5 and nothing! It says not to email again as it causes a delay.Shocking customer service in store and on complaints! Won’t be returning.
