Review Time
After a visit from Clydebuilt windows and doors young salesperson Josh, I paid my deposit for work to be carried out at my house. However, after investigation into the company I cancelled my contract the following day. It took 35 days to get my deposit back after numerous phone calls and emails. From start to finish , starting with Josh the salesperson, I was told all sorts of things that were untrue, like the company had been trading for years? but under various names over years, the contract actually had the previous company details on it and the whole experience was an insight into why you would never get involved with this company. Always an excuse that just goes on and on. Do yourself a favour and go to someone else.
Be VERY, VERY careful if you choose to go with this Company. A leopard never changes its spots, but this company can change it's name when it suits, and in it's previous name (same Director) robbed us of £7,100.00 deposit by failing to fulfil our signed Contract and reneging on a promise (on several occasions) to refund the deposit, and declaring insolvency before our Case against them came to Court.Ah, but we're a "new company" they now tell me, "trying to make a go of it" - but look at their current website (About us) - "...established in 2017..", not so new eh!, and in 2020 they state "we were fortunate to be in a position to withstand the pressure that arose in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit". Really? - that's not what the Liquidator said - "the Company experienced a significant downturn...", " the Company incurred significant arrears with HMRC, and other suppliers..." Book Debts of >£1.1M and total deficiency >£2,8M. So their website doesn't tell the real story!!!Then latterly (10th April 2025) they phone me from the original Clydebuilt phone number I saved in my phone Contacts, to try and get my wife to take down 'immediately' a 1-Star Review. They then phone my wife in turn promising (followed up with email) full repayment paid over a number of weeks. We took further legal advice and that was to await full repayment 'immediately' before taking down the review. They even inferred that maybe we didn't need the money - the sheer audacity. We've not heard from them since.Make of this what you think?
Had seven windows and a door fitted. The door had to be reset three times then we found that two of the upstairs windows had no exterior mastic. We phoned on various occasions but we were ignored and had to pay someone locally to fix the problem.Would not recommend this company.
I asked for standard pvc windows at first contact the lady's were nice then they said they would book a appointment that day the gentleman turned up I explained what was required he did not listen and kept pushing luxury windows he told me standard double glazing last two years and you must buy luxury windows I had enough of his attitude so I ask him to leave he came back to the door and tried to be pushy I will call the manager and get him to speak to you I call there reception and there reception heard what was said. Very pushy company use at own risk as they don't listen to the customer
I paid a £750 deposit for new windows however had to cancel a few days later due to my daughter falling pregnant and needing the money to support her. It was within the cancellation policy and was promised a refund within 21 days. It has been over 2 months and I have still had no money received. I phone up every few days and be given the same response to there is no updates - they have said they can’t get a hold of there accounts team and different excuses each time. This is theft and unacceptable ! I would not recommend them to anyone
Would avoid at all costs. Very pushy and manipulative sales tactics we unfortunately fell for. Ended up with products that don't shut right, squint installations, large drafts and a subpar "finished" appearence. Been told that's the best they can do. Whole heartedly regret ever letting this company in our home
Zero would have been chosen. May 2024 I paid deposit for 15k job. Kicked the can down the road.Ignored call back requests, continually refused to answer/ unavailable. Finally cancelled with them in February. Refund promised within 21 working days.. Still waiting. All in all, no, not recommended.
Got 9 windows and 2 doors done two weeks ago, 26/27 March 2025 & a list of issues found including various property damage, been trying to get them resolved with no luck, no to poor communication from them. Manager meant to come on Friday 4th April, but didn’t appear. They are coming across like a cowboy contractor, but not getting a penny until fixed to a professional standard. !!!Stay clear of Clydebuilt is my advice!!!
