Review Time
Cancelled my contract day after signing in Jan 25. Paid a deposit of £400. Suffered the same experiences as others trying to get it refunded, phone calls, letters of complaints etc with no luck, staff employing delaying tactics, no-one in accounts or management ever available to speak to me etc. After advising them I was taking out a simple procedure through the courts I got my deposit returned. Good luck to everyone still waiting.
I would strongly advise avoiding Clydebuild.From start to finish, our experience has been extremely disappointing. During the window installation, the team caused damage to our furniture, textiles, and walls. Despite repeated requests, the supervisor never visited to inspect the damage and instead made excuses each time.We escalated the issue to management, but our messages were ignored. We even involved Small Claims, which the company also failed to respond to.The workmanship itself has been poor — we now have issues with the windows, and although Clydebuild keeps setting dates for repairs, no one ever turns up.Overall, a very unprofessional company with poor communication and accountability. I would not recommend them. 1 star is generous
We had our Windows and Doors replaced by Clydebuilt last year about end of November with a follow up fix and glass replace on the 13th of March.Our experience was fantastic from start to finish but with some delay on the follow up appointments hence why the 4 star.From the initial query with Kevin looking through options etc it was great, he is a great salesman but not pushy. He gives you plenty of time to think about the offer and was very patient all through out the process until the work had begun with the help of Isaac who then assisted the arrangement of surveyor and payment process. The lads that did the work for us were Mark and Mathew(I think) with another guy fitting the door. They did the work within 3 working days and cleaned up everything. They were brilliant at just doing as much as they can each day and did not start anything w.o knowing that they'll finish it and not leaving us an open window or something. They also came back to sort out the things that needed to be sorted from the initial installation. They were brilliant lads who just cracked on and did it without any faff at all.Overall it was an great service from start to finish. It definitely improved the heat in our house that we are now benefiting with less noise as we are near a busy round about.Thank you guys! Much appreciated. 👍👍👍
We recently got the windows replaced in our house and can't speak highly enough of the boys in fitting them. Jamie, James and Alex were brilliant. Very respectful, polite and just got on with what they had to do. I had to nip in to the office for a bit and also mentioned I had a call in the afternoon while working from home. When I came back around lunch time they had done the upstairs windows so I could take the call without any issues. Can't fault them at all for their work and attitude. I was expecting to have a bit of a mess afterwards but they tidied everything afterwards.
Used Clydebuilt through the Scottish Government scheme as we had a lot of condensation and coldness in the bedrooms.We were told when they measured the windows that they would measure it so the windows would still function with our blinds. After they installed them we put the blinds back up and windows now won't open. We have to have blinds as we use the bedroom as offices. We've complained but they've basically said that in the written contract it says they have no obligation to make sure the windows work with the blinds. We are stuck either with windows not opening or getting new blinds. We are also still paying full price for the windows. If you plan on getting windows from here, get it in writing that if they don't measure the windows right they'll replace them
I would not recommend this company to anyone.I had them replace 6 windows in my property. It’s been a disaster from start to finish. Windows had to be done THREE times before they did it correctly. First time, windows were measured wrong. I was left for 2 weeks with my old windows stuck back in and re sealed with foam. Leaving my flat freezing cold in January with 2 small children. Second time they went in, they weren’t what I had discussed with surveyor. They were made too large with no fixed parts making them unsafe and non compliant. I had to speak with 4 team members over several weeks to have this rectified. Third time, windows were fine. Not the neatest job and sealant is messy, neighbours commented that they hadn’t done a nice job. Cracks in my wood and plaster work were patched up with white sealant, making the finish look cheap and cannot be painted over. I have been in touch with the company on numerous occasions to ask some sort of compensation for time wasted and stress caused to me. To put it simply, they do not care. They do not respond to emails or phone calls, once they have your money they just ignore you. Their prices were competitive hence why I chose this company. I regret that choice and wish I had paid a bit more to go with a more reputable company.
The single worst decision I've made was entering into an agreement to have this joke of a company install windows in my property. The end result was faulty squint window sills but the worst part was the mistreatment after the job.Foolish of me to pay them before fully checking the work properly. False promises to rectify the fault thenIgnored emails and phone calls .The window sill remains squint .Avoid using these ignorant amateurs. I could go on about the shambles that is clydebuilt but it's more time wasted.
The guy who came out to do the quote and the one to measure up were really nice, helpful etcThe job seemed to be sub-letted to a local company for the fitting. The guys themselves were nice and friendly but did a lot of 'half jobs'. When they came back to finish the job the next day I had a list of things wrong with the workmanship from the day before. Didn't follow instruction of what room had to be completed first, so my animals had a safe room. Within 10 minutes of the guys leaving, the company was on the phone asking for payment. That doesn't give anyone a chance to look over things properly. The windows were fitted on the 5th Feb and I still have issues, which no-one is getting back to me about. Certainly would not recommend this company
