Review Time
My wife broke her Femur in an accident at home and was taken to our local A+E in an ambulance where she spent 24hrs before being admitted into a ward prior to an operation to fix the break. All this was 5 days before we were due to fly out to Majorca on a long-awaited holiday, obviously I had to cancel the holiday and then submitted a claim under my Travel Insurance. I must admit after reading some of the negative Trustpilot reviews my heart did sink, but after 4 weeks I did receive confirmation that my claim would be settled (minus the Air Passenger Duty Tax – apparently not covered) and payment was received in my Bank very quickly. I could suggest something it would be that the associated claim handler dealing with your claim make themselves known to you in a personal email with their contact details and an approximation of the timescales involved processing your claim.
I attempted to make a claim online without any success. I then rang the claims line, however after a wait of 5mins my call was answered. The process was to answer some questions on why I was claiming. The young lady completed my claim and processed the payment. Cannot fault the system at all.
Really helpful dealing with our travel insurance claim, after my wife picked up an injury before we could fly so we had to cancel our trip. Didn’t make the process difficult or stressful for us and understood it was already tough having to cancel our trip. Thankfully we just had the flights to be recovered as Ryanair don’t do refunds. All in all glad we could minimise our loss.
The Claims Handler Mr. Manquma made me feel valued as a customer, he went through everything I needed to know, he told me exactly what would happen next and even understood some of my concerns and offered an alternative way to counteract my concerns. I would recommend their service, and all is going through quickly and efficiently. Very happy customer.
My husband broke is ankle while we were on holiday in Norway in May. He had to be operated on at a hospital in Bergen, the treatment he received was extremely positive. I cannot say the same with the experience of dealing with Collinson Group. It is now August and my claim has not been settled, constantly asking for paperwork which has been provided before. The claim has been passed to their technical team then to their validation team what ever they are. My claim is £2500 as I had to stay in a hotel for 8 days whilst my husband was in hospital. We should have travelled to Oslo by train accommodation in Oslo and a flight home which all had to be cancelled. This has caused a lot of upset and stress on top of my husband having to have an operation and he is still having treatment for his ankle. DO NOT take out insurance with the PO as it’s not with the PO but Collinson Group. I have decided to contact the Watchdog program as the service I am receiving is not acceptable.
Unfortunately we needed to cancel our holiday 24 hours before flying due to our family dog becoming unwell and stopped eating, which let to her being put to sleep. Our insurance was via the Post Office with Collinson and after speaking to a representative from Collinson who had no empathy to our situation blankly said our dog did not qualify as a family member, he obviously doesn't have a dog. However, after seeing Yvonne's review from the 7th of April when her cat became unwell Collinson were happy to support and paid out on the insurance so perhaps cats qualify as family members and dogs dont!
Have been waiting 6 months for my claim to be settled despite providing every piece of info requested - unreliable, unresponsive and pasted from one person to another. Now going to financial ombudsman to have this settled Will never use a company who uses them to broker their product
