Firstly Dan the Mobility specialist has been very accommodating and helpful, sadly he was the only trained Mobility specialist at the branch making it very difficult to get help at times. Sadly the car isnt very fuel efficient unless your on the dual carriageway or motorway, town driving we are achieving 20-30mpg, the 1.5 petrol dsg formentor is very noisy which is very distracting if you struggle with sensory difficulties, it takes ages to change gears which is probably why it can be very loud. Also the stop start cannot be permanently turned off and will need to be turned off everytime you get in the car via the settings which can be hard to remember as there is nothing to show you that stop start is off or on, with the auto hold feature this makes the car extremely slow to pull away at roundabouts and junctions which is a safety concern. Finally the sat nav is useless as it rarely finds anywhere in Cornwall even with the postcode and if it finds where you want to go itll take you via the longest route possible. Other than these issues the formentor is a lovely car and Dan at cupra definitely has been very helpful prior to getting the car. Sadly we couldnt cancel the car after ordering due to the cost it would incur for cupra which is understandable. Thanks
Absolute rip off merchants, the littlest job costs a fortune compared to most local garages, and the waiting times are horrendous, they tell you it'll take an hour and you can guarantee it'll be at least 2 hours so they can charge you more. Do not use.
13th December 2023The following is a reply I have just received from Dales Cornwall: Reply from Dales CornwallAn hour agoUnfortunately Mr Matthew’s, this is not an accurate account of events as you well know.At the time of ordering your new car, you did indeed pay for a Dashcam to be fitted. We fitted a Next Base camera to the vehicle, and our reason for this was based on positve feedback from customers using this product. After receipt of the vehicle you saw it fit to leave a Google review awarding us 3 stars because the camera we fitted was not the make listed in the accessory brochure. At your request, we agreed to replace the Next Base camera with a Kenwood camera, at no extra charge to yourself. After this was agreed you said you were completely satisfied and changed your review to 5 stars. On the day of us fitting the new camera, you were treated with good service and good manners from our team. A member of the Sales team also assisted you in answering further queries about the car. At no point during your visit did you mention or even hint that you were unhappy with the service you were receiving, and yet when you got home after getting the camera changed (to your choice) and two additional protective bumper films applied, you amended your review again to 2 stars, why?You have since been in touch saying that the Kenwood camera manufacturer has a worldwide issue with it’s computer software and want us to put the old Next Base camera, the one you didn’t want, back in. The Kenwood camera you asked for has no faults and we cannot be held accountable for the performance of any software supplied by a third party. As a business we have adhered to all of your requests, but yet judging by your constantly changing reviews, these outcomes still don’t seem to be good enough. You are obviously a customer we cannot please and quite frankly we no longer wish to deal with, therefore we would be very happy if you could take your future business elsewhere.End of Dales reply. My response - 13th Dec 2023:In my opinion, the final paragraph of Dales reply says it all! Customer Care, I don't think so. I will not comment further at this time as I would not wish to prejudice my request to Trading Standards for their guidance in this matter. Suffice to say, I have transcripts of all telephone and email conversations pertinent to this issue, much content of which is missing in Dales version of events.I conclude at this point by saying that, prior to this unfortunate incident, my previous dealings with Dales over a 10 year period have been perfectly acceptable.
From our first look at our new car the staff were amazing!! Jane helped pick the car and organised the purchase! We had a few issues to start and our sales person Jane was fantastic and helped resolve the problems! Then the issues started getting worse and worse and the Scorrier after sales department went from worse to worse. Service was horrendous and turns out Renault warranty’s do not cover leaking glass roofs or dodgey electrics even though we only bought the car less than 9 months ago. The dealership looked once and informed me there was not a problem even though the inside of the car was like a shower. £160 per hour just to look at at plus a fee for a courtesy car! Dealt with the issue privately and then moved the car on and bought from another brand. Never would I buy a Renault or give my money to dales again.
Time to take our Captur to Dales Renault Scorrier for it's annual service. Professionally dealt with by Marli Sanders who provided a courtesy car whilst the technicians again did excellent work in reviving our car. The inspection of our vehicle's condition was commendably very thorough, to the milimetre as it were. Even though this discovered a failing 'stop n start' battery, which meant for a heart stopping increase in the final bill. Yet despite this still consider Dales to be a dealer who charges a fair price for it's services. And our car is now fit for Le Mans again....
I bought an Astra from 'Cornwall trade centre' which is part of Dales Summercourt. There was a problem the next day with the Clutch, it was returned to them, a courtesy car supplied, various problems occurred but throughout all those envolved were polite, helpful and quick to respond. As a result i fully recommend them.
This is by far the worst garage to ever purchase a car from!!!I recently purchased a Seat Ibiza from Seat Dales in Scorrier. After picking up the car I noticed immediately 2 issues which were a cracked windscreen and also a cracked headlight! I then messaged the car salesman who I dealt with and he said it could be sorted which I was fine with. I then had my guard up about the car and my gut was telling me something was off so I took it to a garage to be checked. After going to the garage they immediately told me I had been miss sold and to return it ASAP!At the garage they found, bubbling paint work and rust on the right wing!!Further to this there was GLASS IN THE DOORS!! Clearly showing that the vehicle had been in an accident and they hadn’t even bothered to hoover the glass out!! Or worse… to tell me it had been in an accident. They then pooped the bonnet to realise that some bolts weren’t even bolted down so if I were to get into an accident the repercussions would be devastating! Finally, checking the MOT on the vehicle, there were major discrepancies including incorrect mileage!! After seeing all this, I went straight back to the dealer where they told me I can’t return the vehicle!! Which they were VERY wrong. Under the consumer rights act, I had 14 days to reject the vehicle (I had the car for 3 days at this point) Adam Sparks was rude and clearly wanted to get rid of me as I wasn’t happy. Both Adam, and the sales manager discriminated me against both my age and gender and saw me as an easy target to sell this VERY faulty and quite frankly unsafe vehicle. If you see MW18 LVL on their forecourt DO NOT purchase!!! STAY CLEAR
Recently collected my second Motability car from Dales Cornwall. The first was a Crossland X and now I have a Mokka! Great customer service from Dave Allen, he was really helpful and showed an automatic novice how to drive the new car! Would highly recommend!
