Received a PCN from Smart Parking after parking at the Holiday Inn Manchester Airport. Paid the £25 fee for parking at the hotel reception, I’ve subsequently appealed the decision and provided proof of payment to Smart Parking. They then asked for confirmation of stay which I sent the confirmation number. I’ve then heard nothing and then started receiving threatening letters for Debt Recovery Plus. I’ve then rang them up and basically got told I have to pay or it’ll go up and eventually go to court, too which I said I’ll go to court and then they hung up.Wasn’t interested in the fact I had paid and can prove I have paid.Edit: The reply below is also fictitious and they haven’t sent any form of contact.
What a nasty little business of legal warfare. There is a significant issue in my appeal process in the fact the registration number presented in my appeal is not mine.I have tried to explain this on multiple occasions but the individuals I speak to are seemingly not able to comprehend a simple situation. I have gone back to the appeal company at POPLA and I have reached out to APCOA who passed this to Debt Recovery without any professional contact after this faulty appeal decision.I continue to update Debt Recovery but they don't care about any of the detail they just keep sending threatening letter to me.Even the Debt Recovery Plus website for paying doesn't even work, what kind of amateurs are this lot! What a dirty business.
Mid October yet another threatening letter relating to drop off zone at Manchester Airport. Parked on 28th April. Paid £5 charge around 7pm on 29th April. My bank statement shows payment on 30th April but notes it had been paid on the 29th. This does not satisfy DRP. I am prepared to let them sue me, any judge will not give them judgment when I explain and show the statement.
Zero customer service. We stay on hold for hours, but no agent answers any calls. You send falsely accused, threatening letters with no option to appeal or alternative to contact you. You should go to court and be locked up for this scam service.
Awful company. My fine was ages ago, but google showed me my reviews today so I thought “I’ll leave another” Staff try bully tactics, but looking on glass door I would probably be quite rude to people too. I paid about £150 I imagine the profit they made was £30-£40 which I would pay again just to irritate the staff…. Which was a lot of fun.
Terrible service, Had a parking fine issued in June. Received 1 letter, which says 4 of 5 been sent. I have absolutely NOT received the other letters prior. I’ve been on hold for over an hour and half to speak to someone about the ONE letter I have received.Unacceptable for them to chase me and my money, but when I want to speak to them. They cannot be bothered to answer their phones. Very unhelpful when you do get through. Also note they close at 7pm I rang before 6pm. And as I type this. They have now cut me off the line.
I don't know how these people sleep at night! Lisa Clure, Gareth Brierley, Stewart Clure, Brian William Maynard, Susan Lesley Ring who own this company should be ashamed. They keep sending me letters saying I owe £165.00, yet I have phoned them countless times and to no avail. We picked my son up in June at Luton airport. Went through twice at £5 a time. The next day I paid both charges and have bank evidence and carried on with my life.I then started getting letters saying we never paid. I have evidence!I have tried contacting Apcoa who said they will look into it (clearly they haven't) and have no way of contacting Debt recovery plus, because they have no email address and don't pick up their phones. They have caused me stress for no reason. They claim on their website they are - Changing the face of debt resolution. Ethically | Expertly | Efficiently - Yeah right, and pigs fly! You are anything but ethical. You cause stress to everyday people and lack compassion or empathy to how this effects peoples lives.
