Direct Ferries took my booking on Tues night for a ferry on Wednesday, and emailed to advise there was a delay and they would send confirmation ‘shortly’. By the morning, still no confirmation. There’s no phone number to call, so had to use online chat. I started the chat at 0820. At 1040, 20 minutes before check in closed, they told me I had to send a photo of my passport because there was a security issue, and then cancel and re-book my ferry. At an £80 premium to the original fare! Feels like an out and out scam to con me out of extra money. Booking cancelled, and Eurotunnel now booked for tomorrow. Thankfully we are in a van and can wait out the extra day, but many would simply have had to pay extra. Disgraceful sharp practice.
The booking works, but there are a couple of issues. With ferries that don't need pet declaration, they ask for it and you can just enter 1 dog (not 2 or more...). The ticket that they claim will arrive with a separate e-mail did never come and each time I hat do contact the customer service
This company rips people off. I was misled by the lead in price. I placed 3 pets in my requirement section and a 10.20am departure time. When I received the confirmation, Direct Ferries had booked 08.30am and no pets. When I brought to their attention, they did not advise that they would charge an admin fee to correct their own mistake of incorrect time and omitting my requirement of 3 dogs. There is no telephone number to speak to anyone, but instead just a chat facility. On this chat, they sent me a link which automatically charged me without a breakdown of what amount the charges were or what they applied to. Numerous emails later they will not accept their mistake and are blaming Irish Ferries. I will never book with them again, and strongly advise others to book direct with the individual ferry companies.
Completamente disorganizzati e inaffidabili, ho dovuto pagare 50 euro per modificare il biglietto e al momento del pagamento della modifica del biglietto del traghetto, non mi è arrivata nessuna mail di conferma di pagamento, ne alcuna mail col biglietto nuovo modificato. Alla mia richiesta di spiegazioni mi dicono che a loro ancora non è arrivato il mio pagamento (dalla mia carta mi hanno detratto subito la somma) pertanto dovrò secondo loro pagare altri 50 euro perché probabilmente il link che mi avevano mandato era scaduto. Senza parole. Uno schifo. Un viaggio Bari durazzo mi verrà 200 euro, mille mail e nessuna risposta esaustiva. Non mi è mai capitato nella mia vita di fare acquisti online e dover ricevere mail di conferme pagamento o del biglietto giorni dopo, assurdo!!! Mi sono stati sempre generati in automatico e in modo istantaneo i biglietti. Upon my request for explanations they tell me that my payment has not yet arrived (they immediately deducted the sum from my card) therefore according to them I will have to pay another 50 euros because the link they had sent me had probably expired. Without words. A mess. A trip to Bari Durazzo will cost me 200 euros, a thousand emails and no comprehensive response. It has never happened to me in my life to make purchases online and have to receive payment or ticket confirmation emails days later, absurd!!! Tickets have always been automatically and instantly generated for me. What disorganization and what a shame!I will do everything possible to ensure that my rights and money are not lost! If I don't receive any tickets I will use the means at my disposal to receive the refund I believe I am due!
