Several years ago, I had my Google Mail account terminated because hackers tried to use it for pirating. One STUPID thing about Discord security is their very nonsensical logic to change your account email ; you can't change your email if you do not have access to your previous email address for confirmation. Just one single point of failure if you loose your email and your account is gone. Yes, despite having your phone number linked, security keys, etc.
Even beyond that, the support is incapable of helping you because of their Safety Policy even if you have all the proofs that can show your account owner. They will give you the same answer in loop because they're just like robots who don't have any appeals to the users of their app.
Today, my Discord account randomly ask for password reset and I just lost my account. I had a tons of meaning full files, friends and server access that I will either never found again or take a tremendous amount of time to restore again on a new account.
So thanks to Discord and their unhelpful service.
Discord support is an actual piece of shit.
They denied my request to change my old email because it got deleted, and I can’t get the verification code to change it myself although I gave them every proof of ownership.
After asking the exact reason why it’s not possible, they just ignored me.
I am completely against this company using AI, the irinfringement on my privacy, and how any potential data stolen will be used to training more AI and fund more corruption. I vehemently stand against this. Do better as a company and have some genuine empathy and compassion.
I left with 7 other servers the smallest server being 50+ people. I won't continue suporting a company that aims to destroy or rights to privacy, our rights to free speech and our rights to remain anonymous. I migrated all 7 servers to Valour.gg, this company is open source and vows to remain that way for future builds along with keeping little to no information on users aside their email and user names. This is what discord use to be, because they chose to spit in the users faces they are about to burn to the ground. Good bye forever Discord.
Safety concerns led me to cancel my Nitro plan and I’m considering leaving the app completely.
Discord is implementing a personal data collection policy for its users even after multiple high level breaches into user accounts and passwords. The last major breach was less than 5 months ago and exposed over 70,000 users to bad actors collecting their identities and log-in information.
The decision to push forward a policy that jeopardizes the safety of their user base for profit has frayed the trust they once had.
Discord’s phone verification system has been completely unreliable in my case.
For months, I have been unable to link my legitimate Saudi phone number. The same error keeps appearing:
“This phone number is unable to be associated with this account.”
I submitted multiple support tickets and followed all recommended troubleshooting steps. Nothing worked.
Facts:
• Only one Discord account
• No duplicate accounts
• Personal phone number
• No policy violations
Yet Discord’s system continues to block verification.
What’s disappointing:
• No permanent fix
• Generic responses
• Issue persists for months
A verification system should prevent abuse, not create problems for legitimate users.
Discord Support acknowledged the issue but did not resolve it.
This seriously impacts trust and usability.
Not only does it secretly watch every app as you open it (how it knows what games you play) this setting can not be turned off and they will make it worse with age restriction move its more tracking than helping kids.
The update that they want to roll out is going to suck, "O just scan your ID and all will be fine" nah I won't give you my ID bicouse of all that leaks of yours, security on discord is ass and they want to make the app suck more
Downfall of Discord did gladually started since march 2025, and by april introduce new user interface which is absolutely disgusting and not easy to find out, not olny that also constant Discord Nitro pop up screen.
Also i wqs unable to hear my mates on full speaker mode while playing ETS2 TruckersMP on PC, and also on phone, every update they done makes them worse, we had to scream to each other to hear both of us.
Discord also had data breach incident in october 2025 affecting 70.000 users as Discord did not deleted users image right after they did age verfification with ID's such as goverment, driver licence.
And now today Age Verfification rolls out and why i should trust them in first place if another data breach happens, or simply some partner company of World Economic Forum and i dont want give my face, ID to World Economic Forum, Collective Shout or other shady unelected organisations.
Discord just killed thrm self this this one, many users are canceling Nitro, which looks like biggest downfall for them.
Becouse of this mess, i'm considering delete my account very soon (probarly less than 023 to 047 days) from Discord and move out to TeamSpeak.
Very lame beginning of the year.

Discord is a shaddy scummy govement slop corp.
New implementations literally confirm this, hidden under "Teen safety" Is just a bunch of data collection means.
This with a CEO that has been charged of selling/trading personal user data, and the fact that discord has had multiple big data breaches that show they are completely incapable of keeping user data safe in the first place.
