A few times a week I venture down the hill to the Dollarama at the Port Place Mall in Nanaimo. I’m pleased to shop and support a Canadian owned company. I feel a sense of Canadian pride.
“My Dollarama” is clean, bright, and well organized. What I really value at “My Dollarama” is the employee, Jenny. Jenny is more than a cashier. She’s a friendly face, with a kind word, and a pleasant greeting. What makes this employee excellent is her retail service. Jenny is a multitasker. She works two tills at a time keeping the line moving quickly. “Good to go.” is what she says to the client as she jumps to the adjacent till ringing up the next person. The line moves quickly.
Jenny is an amazing employee and deserves acknowledgement from the corporation and a prize for her commitment to cheerful customer service. I always look forward to the next Dollarma shopping experience and my encounter with Jenny.

I like Dollarama , but some locations have a serious attitude problem . I was just at the " Forum " branch & no hand held baskets , making a friendly gesture to the cahier to see if they had any , she nodded " no " with attitude & dismissive grimace & looked away , like she doesn't give a flying prune & I'm certain she doesn't . Charming . Same problem at the check out at Alexis Nihon ... it's like they just don't care .Now since I'm not one who only complains , I can tell you that the " Cathedral " branch has always been in a good mood & even say thank you with a smile . That's it , that's all . Good luck .
I bought $1950 apple gift cards on Saturday at 230 in bowmanville location at 243 king street east. All 4 cards that I bought were all blank went inside the store and asked for 2 brand new apple gift cards to replace the 2 fraudulent ones. The manager never gave us the 2 new ones without paying for them. Then she took my friend sunglasses and put them behind the till.
Attended the Polson Park Mall location in Vernon, BC and was absolutely gobsmacked at how encrusted with dirt their carts and pull along baskets were. I am talking thick, encrusted dirt and grim with a baked on to the metal and plastic appearance. And I went through all the carts looking for a cleaner one but they were all like that. 🤮🤮🤮Then I had the nerve to try and contact head office to complain and found a system that has been set up so they never have to actually talk to a customer. What about the above statements would make anyone think this company sees its customers as anything other than walking cash machines. Because they certainly are not supporters of "customer service". I'll be shopping at the other 3 none dollarama dollar stores in our area from now on.
You would think that with all the profits they are raking in, that they would invest in a useful website, where we can check to see if a product is in stock or not. Since we can no longer call the store directly. Calling their 1-888 number is useless. And their website is completely useless as well.
I am making a comment about the 'Mountana' dude who typed that Dollarama is the worst store on the Planet. Wow! He must be a space astronaut having flown around the Planet Earth (I assume). This disgruntled customer is from Ontario. Sounds like an unhappy person about other stores in Canada and the USA as well. I suggest he stay in his space craft and keep on orbiting whatever Planet including Mars.
worst store in whole the planet they doesn't have a local phone number and their toll free number not responsive Also, their customer service stink and their Email are useless Therefore, I will not recommend this crappy store to anyone
They price things incorrectly but will only honor 1 item only!! If they price it wrong then they should honor the price but they wouldn’t!! . Management are rude and not friendly. The cashier was kind but manager not nice. Then contacted them customer service. Did not reply to all my questions. Stated they would send e gift card and they didn’t!!! I wonder how many time they price items wrong hoping customers dont notice.
I bought a prepaid Joker Mastercard from Dollarama, registered the card when I got home, and tried to use it several times to activate a new prepaid phone plan @ Lucky Mobile only to realize that I was having a hard time because the credit card number was not the same number as on the receipt from the store. When I checked the balance, it had/has purchases in Seattle... I live and bought the card in Canada... Why is Dollarama selling fraudulent Mastercards?
