He encouraged me to buy an advanced HPI check from what appears to be his or an associate's company. This feels like a complete scam. He pretends to be a potential buyer just to get you to make a purchase from this service. I am reporting this situation to the authorities and the bank's fraud team. A deceitful individual, unfortunately! Stay away! Targeting unsuspecting individuals. Unacceptable!

Definitely a scam—do not engage. The report eventually arrived much later than promised and wasn't worth the hassle. Be cautious of individuals posing as eager buyers who ask you to purchase a report before meeting. After posting my vehicle, I received multiple inquiries within minutes, all requesting a report beforehand. It seems there are several companies pulling this scam.
Stay informed; I was asked to pay for a vehicle check while selling my car. I'm glad I checked reviews, as many were similar to the message I received today. Please avoid this particular service, as the messages I got were almost identical to the negative reviews.

I would personally advise against this service; there are much better options available.
