Review Time
I am extremely disappointed with eBay’s lack of oversight regarding consumer safety. I recently purchased 4 bottles of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion for €75.11, only to receive products that were completely unusable.Upon checking the batch code (A19), I discovered these bottles were manufactured in January 2019. They are over 7 years old! The lotion has a foul, rancid smell, indicating the ingredients have degraded and spoiled.Selling expired, spoiled cosmetics is not only a violation of eBay’s own "Health and Beauty" policies, but it also borders on illegal under California and US consumer protection laws regarding the sale of adulterated goods. Despite reporting this, eBay has done nothing to penalize the seller or prevent them from offloading hazardous, decade-old stock onto unsuspecting customers.If you value your skin or your money, stay away. eBay is clearly choosing seller fees over buyer safety.
eBay feels like a platform stuck in the 90s, and their tracking system is a joke. I paid $40 for shipping on a package that just arrived at a pickup point after 2 months!!! eBay marked it as “delivered” the moment it got there - even though I haven’t received it yet. Another package showed as delivered... in a completely different country.Sellers are often unresponsive, returns are a headache, and fake or useless tracking info is everywhere. Their support can be decent at times, which is more than I can say for some other sites, but overall it’s a frustrating experience. If you want a smooth, trustworthy shopping experience, eBay is not it. I’m done wasting my time and money here.
This site needs to be shut down. First time and last time ordering anything from this site. I found an item for a decent price and all of the reviews about the seller and service were mostly positive reviews. I waited a couple of days waiting for shipping confirmation and after 2 days I was sent an email saying the order was cancelled by the buyer. I never cancelled the order and that is a complete lie. I did a little bit of investigating without contacting the seller and read where it is considered unethical for a seller to lie about reason of cancellation and if reported then the seller would be removed from the site. I seriously doubt that's going to happen. They are going to continue to play mind games with their customers and be misleading. Luckily a refund was issued immediately but I will not chance it again. Always remember you can open a dispute through your bank or BBB when these predators take your money and don't refund it.
I already had serious problems with ebay in the past but that's the last time I deal with them. I wanted to return an item that was very poor quality, I could not do it because the customer service was so slow that it took them more that the 14 statutory days for return. Shambolic. There are so many places nowadays to buy and sell that the world can easily do without them.
Fees - makes no odds who you charge fees from. I’ve reduced my prices.Postage - now I have to drive to drop off parcels because eBay decides who I send my parcel with. Up until recently, I could arrange for Royal Mail or Evri to collect them from my home. It was easy but you’ve made it really annnoying. It’s likely I’ll stop selling on eBay for this reason.
