I've been buying and selling on Ebay for over 20 years , it's changed a lot in that time but for the most part all has been well, However, I can't fathom why a seller can not leave negative feedback for a buyer that has deliberately bid on an item, won said item and then doesn't bother to pay?

Ebay should allow the seller to contact their customer service team and get Ebay to at least block the buyers account as ultimately, Ebay claims that once you've bid on an item then you are entering a formal contract with the seller.

It all seems a bit upside down as let's face it, as a seller you have to abide by posting the item once it's sold by a certain date, the item has to be appropriately packed etc and you're at the mercy of the buyer and if he/she are unscrupulous then they can do and say what they want.

I had this last month where I sent an item perfectly wrapped, the seller claimed it arrived damaged, they get a refund and got to keep the item...unbelievable!!

Ebay charging you to protect themselves

Ebay charge you an added fee to protect you against fraudulent sellers that they allow on their platform to fraud you and then eBay refuse to refund you..feels like a double fraud to me.

Buyer protection not fit for purpose

Seller showed me the item was damaged and I couldn't collect, but because of the confusing situation eBay has brought in with selling fees, he didn't want to refund these fees out of his account. I had to open an item not received case which is supposed to be resolved in 2 days but took over a week with no response. After chasing customer service agents that barely speak English I finally got an email to say they were closing the case in my favour and refunding me but a week later the case is still pending and still no refund. I've now had to open a case with American express to get a refund. Buyer protection is non-existent. Having nearly £6000 sat on my credit card for 3 weeks with no resolution is not acceptable

Ongoing issue

Having received no order and the seller advising that the money had been taken from their account I asked eBay to refund my money to no avail.PayPal refunded me within 24hrs and the balance was taken from my eBay account. After being passed from 10 yes 10 agents/ leadership team with loads of false promises I still haven't received my money. Don't expect eBay to help with any dispute.Money back guarantee NOT.

Ebay are UNTRUSTWORTHY!!

Bought 2 items from a buyer who dispatched immediately without a tracking reference?? The day before its last due day of arrival, the company messages me and says they dont have those colours anymore and im to pick alternate colours. I asked for a refund but hear nothing. I ring ebay and they tell me I have to wait until the delivery deadline. I said thats not right, theres no actual tracking ref and as they can see in the emails, the buyer doesnt have the colours and hadnt actually posted in the first place. Im told to report the buyer, but the options aren't relevant to my complaint. At one point the ebay person slammed something on their desk because they were upset at me questioning the unfairness of the situation. What are we paying protection for?? Ebay have gone downhill, for sellers and buyers rights. The company and platform is a pile of dog doo!!!

I’m giving them one star because you…

I’m giving them one star because you can’t give zero star. eBay UK has been the worst. After investigating an undelivered parcel, eBay told me to go and chase up the parcel myself with the courier. essentially go and do the job of the actual seller.

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking I’ve just started selling on e bay and all was fine However I had an issue where an item was recieved by my buyer 12 days ago- he left positive feedback back, messaged to say thanks for the item- I have a tracking no but eBay refuses to acknowledge its delivery and won’t free up my money I emailed and had one reply over ten days and they are not even acknowledging that I want to raise a grievance Atrocious

I have been with eBay 23 years

I have been with eBay 23 years. I bought some perfume in the US and listed it on eBay - they say I viotated their policy. I sent a receipt and they still said the same thing - no mention of what was needed. I called 3 times the last time i was supposed to be put through to a different department. The phone went dead.

I placed an advert 6 weeks ago

I placed an advert 6 weeks ago. We all thought EBay ads were free? Be careful!!! I have received a bill for £250! After 90 minutes useless call centre operator he couldn’t cancel the advert. He told me each view cost me 35pence! I was shocked! What if 10.000 people viewed or 100.000?!!! It’s a scandal. We went round and round in circles for 90 minutes, he couldn’t cancel or show me how. Hopeless! I am 80 years old, he nearly gave me a heart attack! The item didn’t even sell. I have now cancelled the advert myself. I hope!
