I bought a stroller directly from Empik (not other sellers through the marketplace).It was shown with a carrycot in the picture, but I received it without it. Support said that it was a mistake on their website and they were nice enough to give me a voucher for the full price of a new carrycot and some extra.Later, I noticed that the wheels are crooked and wobbly. The support has contacted the supplier who had sent me a new pair of wheels directly to me.Everything took quite some time, but in the end, all problems were solved.Big recommendation from me, and huge thanks to Karolina and Zuzanna!
I'm pretty satisfied with Empik, I've never had any issues with them. I can choose delivery as I wish: by a courier (additional fee) or I can go and pick up my parcel in a bookshop of theirs (free of charge). I can also quite often decide if I pay in advance or when I pick up the parcel. It's usually cheaper to buy online than in a bookshop.
This app had poor service after I ordered an iron. The iron arrived without factory seals, a water dosimeter, and with a bent ironing surface spout. I requested a return with photos. It took days for them to respond. Frustrated, I asked for a refund instead of a replacement due to lack of communication. They refused, claiming it's their choice. After waiting over two weeks for inspection, they initially said they'd repair it, then said it's cheaper to send a new one, and finally, they couldn't send a new one, offering compensation instead. I waited a month without an iron, unable to purchase another. My negative comment wasn't posted due to app censorship of negative feedback.
Empik is a disaster on wheels. Maybe some locals might use it if they have a cautionary country-specific VISA card – this reminds me of the Russian issues with restrictions. It's bizarre that in a supposedly European country, in a company which allegedly has a history and reputation, someone would hire such a dysfunctional operation manager who can't handle payments with VISA cards issued by a bank other than a Polish one. It's like shooting oneself in the foot and then sawing off the wounded part on the spot. I had a few subscriptions, although their selection isn't vast. I wanted to pay for another one and got a confirmation after using my VISA (UK bank). Everything seemed fine, a charge equivalent to 1 zł in GB Pounds currency appeared in my bank account, and I thought the matter was settled. But then, suddenly, there was a second charge attempt (?), followed by hours of confusion with customer service, and in the end, I was informed that they accept VISA, but only from a Polish bank (really not a joke). Someone once said that Poland is a wild country; I say don't insult the wild places because there, all cards work.
