came here because having trouble with getting paid out for a valid cancellationq; They just keep asking for more documents. They don't answer any messages. Avoid at all costs
I suspect the positive reviews are fake. I lodged a claim, and they asked for additional documents to be uploaded in the portal. But the option to upload additional documents is disabled, so I am stuck in a loop with no way forward. Nobody responds to my messages in the portal or to emails. This is an absolute scam, do NOT buy insurance with Europ Assitance Italia.
I booked my accommodation with AirBnB during which I was offered insurance with this company. I became concerned when I received no communication regarding paperwork. I looked up Europ Assistance on your sight and was alarmed to see customer satisfaction extremely low. I will be getting my insurance with a more reputable company. Thank you Trust Pilot.
We recently suffered a robbery on the first night of our stay in a resort in Spain. Someone entered the apartment through a patio door which had been left unlocked by a previous occupant or a housekeeper. My wife’s handbag was stolen with her documents and a total of 300€. Europ assistance rejected our claim on the basis that their policy does not cover money or documents and as I could not provide a receipt for the handbag they would not cover that either. I eventually got a receipt and when I forwarded that, they refused it on the basis that there was no forced entry. What is the point of insuring with this companyEurop Assistance replied to my review by referring me to exactly the same customer services department that rejected my claim! I thought I had taken out a one year policy - that is how it was advertised, and that is what the payment was for. However, it automatically renewed even though I did not need or want this. I cannot find anything in the documentation I was sent at the time that explained the policy would automatically renew if I did not cancel it. I did receive a letter saying it would be automatically renewed but there was no information about how to cancel it and no contact details. I eventually spoke with an agent who gave me an e-mail address that turned out to be the wrong one. I was also too late as I needed to send the e-mail two months before the policy expired rather than in response to the letter which came later than that. So, I have been charged 288 euros for something I don't want and don't need and I can't do anything about it.
