Review Time
I wanted a winter adventure for my February birthday. The dog sledding excursion sold me. Now back home at work, I pull up the video I took of sledding and I feel wistful I'm not back there.
I loved that the experience felt Finnish, not created for US or UK travelers. (I was the only American too.) Food, rustic lodging, sauna, no TVs but the main hall was decorated to encourage lounging, meeting with our travel mates, the resident dog, enjoying meals of Finnish food.
Exodus offers really well organized and planned out cycling tours. We've now done 5 trips and, our most recent trip to Sri Lanka was the best yet. The guides are fantastic, the bikes good and well supported. Food, hotels and extra activities are amazing. In Sri Lanka particularly, the pacing of the trip (cycling, activities, down time) were excellent. I highly recommend using exodus for your next cycling adventure.
We have just returned from a fabulous Discover Sri Lanka trip with Exodus. As ever with Exodus, the organisation went without a hitch, the chosen places to visit were excellent, the involvement with local people really good. Super hotels, great food. Our guide Prathap did a fantastic job. For a varied and fairly active trip, can't recommend it enough
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Costa Rica. Our guide, David exceeded our expectations. He would even make arrangements for other activities (dinner reservation) upon request. We saw sooo many birds and other things too. Red eyed frog, Caymens, Monkeys, Sloths etc etc. Our driver kept us safe. There is a lot of activity so be ready for lots of walking through the National Parks. We got to stay is some fabulous Lodges off the beaten path. Would recommend this tour!
My first experience with Exodus and it was wonderful. Jordan felt safe and the people cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. Our Guide Mikhled was brilliant, clearly loves his country and made sure we were all looked after, with humor and patience. The experience included a night camping in Wadi Rum which was a fantastic experience, a balance of authentic, but with facilities !. Food is varied and there are options for vegetarians, albeit they are by nature a meat loving country. Petra is a must see, it is mind-blowing and one off my "bucket list" and we also did Petra by night and that was a lovely experience - lots of information and time to soak it all in over two days. Other experiences, Little Petra, time by the Red Sea and of course the Dead Sea and Mud wrap were hugely enjoyed by our group. Hammam in Petra was unusual but we had great fun with lots of laughs. All round a fantastic trip and well worth it..so take the plunge you wont regret it.
Our cycle tour of the backroads of Sri Lanka was fantastic. We were able to see and experience the real Sri Lanka taking in amazing views of the ever changing landscape and many places of interest, local businesses and families. Our tour leader, Ruwan, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and cheerful making sure that we enjoyed every minute of our trip.
This is a specific review for Exodus’s Back Roads of Sri Lanka cycling trip, rather than Exodus admin in general. We had a lovely group and our leader, Ruwan, was exemplary. We also had a fabulous support crew, Abey, Chatu, Pawan and Oshitha….thank you!! I don’t think you can underestimate the impact that a support crew can have and these guys were fab….always smiling, respectful and helpful. It was like magic…we’d return to our bikes after a rest stop to find our water bottles refilled! Delicious, varied snacks too, which appeared like magic, perfectly prepared…the juiciest mango and pineapple…and some very tasty chocolate roll, amongst plenty others! Great driving and cycle support too! Sri Lanka is a beautiful country and we loved cycling through the countryside and waving to locals who were always so enthusiastic to see us. We learned an incredible amount from our awesome leader, Ruwan, who had a lovely manner and an incredible ability to spot wildlife that we would have missed (I’ve no idea how he managed to spot all those crocodiles!) Overall, an amazing trip.
This was the first time Exodus ran this extended Oman tour and it exceeded expectations. We spent many hours travelling across all types of wild mountain ,coast and desert terrain but had frequent breaks to admire the scenery and stock up on snacks and drinks. I loved being in the wadis. Some were huge and others were narrow canyons. We covered much of the stunningly beautiful country of Oman with its incredible wilderness, sunsets and friendly locals. We also visited ancient and modern villages and towns. The Omani leader and drivers were great fun, skilled and informative. The temperature range was wide but not uncomfortable as long as you dressed appropriately. Oman is surprisingly cheap regarding food, drink and souvenirs. The accommodation was very good even on the camping overnights. We were very lucky to have Lucy, a member of the Exodus Team, on our trip. She was very helpful, caring and obviously wanted us to have a great time. She is the perfect ambassador for Exodus and her happy, friendly nature was a welcome addition to this amazing adventure.
So well organised, every detail catered for. Superb trip leader Sanjeewa and his team were always there for us. Fantastic, beautiful, friendly country and cycling was a wonderful way to experience it. Thank you!
When I first made an enquiry about a holiday I was expecting the results of a medical test within a week.
Neil was prepared to hold a place for me until I got the results.
Unfortunately I wasn't going to get the results until after the payment was due.
Neil was happy to give me another week to pay.
Luckily everything was sorted out the next day.
