Review Time
While this browser isn't my primary choice, I often use it for work and study. It allows multiple profiles tailored for different tasks, with synchronization options. However, it has its downsides. Frequent updates can be inconvenient when I need to log in quickly. Additionally, some extensions I relied on have disappeared, and I haven't found suitable replacements yet.
As someone who opposes closed-source software, I have always chosen this browser as my default. However, over time, the development team seems to have gained too much power, creating a bureaucracy that ignores user feedback. The browser has become unnecessarily bloated with features and components that many users did not ask for. The Android installation file is now around 500 MB, and the PC version takes too long to start. Feedback often goes unanswered, as developers hide behind automated responses. Users are losing control over the browser's behavior, often needing to rely on third-party extensions to adjust unwanted settings. The recent changes, such as limiting content saving, are concerning and reflect a shift away from user rights. It feels like a major fork or a new open-source alternative is needed, as many users share these frustrations.
Why doesn’t this browser simply notify you to update instead of slowing down to a crawl? Restarting means losing all your work, including windows and tabs, even if you try to use the 'Exit' option. I have loved this browser for years, but I've reached my limit.
I recently switched from another browser and everything was flawless until today when it closed all my windows unexpectedly. There's no way to restore my tabs, and I had over 50 open, all crucial. I can't remember them all. Thanks a lot for this frustrating experience. I'm now searching for a new browser.
