They refuse to refund bogus service charges and have intentionally mislead me. I've had an account

They refuse to refund bogus service charges and have intentionally mislead me.
I've had an account with this bank for many years. They changed the terms and conditions on my account without notifying me in July 2025 and began charging me a $10 monthly service charge. I immediately went to my branch and brought this to their attention. I was told that this was a computer error and that this charge would be refunded. I have a small balance in this account and do not check my statements regularly. I trusted their word and believed that this charge would be refunded.
After checking my statement in February 2026, I noticed that they continue to charge me this monthly fee. If I had known that the terms of my account had changed I would have closed my account. Instead, they have charged me a total of $80 and my branch manager refuses to refund this amount even though they gave me false information.
Nobody should trust this bank with their money.

I don’t write reviews often but I have…

I don’t write reviews often but I have nowhere else to vent my frustration and my issue with this bank. I signed up for a checking and savings account, with the bonus being the biggest incentive. They claim that if you open a savings account at the same time that you open your checking account and deposit $3K within a certain amount of days and maintain a $3K balance for 90 days that you’ll get an additional $250 bonus. They are refusing to give me my $250 bonus, because they said I did not maintain $3,000 for the full 90 days. The reason they’re saying I didn’t maintain it is because my account qualified for $0 dollar fees, meaning the quarterly $5 fee would be waived for me. Well, the way they “waive” this fee is by deducting it from your savings account and immediately reapplying the $5 back into the account. They literally take it out and reapply within the same day . Because it shows -$5 in my checking account even though it shows the $5 being credited back IMMEDIATELY, they are saying that my account went under the $3K limit. First of all, I didn’t take my account under $3000, they did. And they did it because that is their process of “waving” fees. I could understand if my account went under by $5 because of a fee that I actually owed, but I didn’t owe it. I am so unbelievably angry and frustrated. And the worst part is there is nothing you can do about it. If you call, you are not going to be able to speak to anyone other than the customer service people or maybe their supervisor. I just keep getting told that they’re working on it and they will get back with me once they have a resolution. That was a great answer at first, but three weeks later I realize I am just being strung along. I guess they feel like the longer they tell me that they’re working on it, I will just forget about it. I have never known a bank to be so outrightly deceitful and get away with it. I’m sure there are people out there that are happy with First Horizon, but based on the other reviews I don’t think there are many. I strongly suggest you read reviews and go to any other bank before you open a new account or start a brand new relationship with this bank.

So bad in so many ways

So bad in so many ways, it's too long to describe.Moving all monies to Chase. It seems that some of their people are very nice, but nice does not equal competent. Run from this bank.

Giving them 1 star is too much

Giving them 1 star is too much. They ripped me off on a promotion. Bait and switch. Filed a charge with banking regulators. Not a good business! Lost trust! Inadequate communications. Horrible experience. Worst bank!

Find a personal banker you can go to!

I've had a good experience with my personal banker and once I had a personal contact there, it made my experience with every day and speciality banking so much better. I highly recommend banking with something you know. Their tech is good enough and getting better too!

They have no concern for their customers.

I've been using this bank since 1985 when it was Bank of Lafayette. In 1996, Iberia Bank bought Bank of Lafayette. In 2020, First Horizon bought Iberia Bank. For the 11 years when it was Bank of Lafayette, no issues. For the 24 years when it was Iberia bank, no issues. Since First Horizon bought it, issues. The most recent one takes the cake. My daughter, who has had an account at First Horizon for 16 years, had her debit card blocked on 12-20-25. She contacted digital banking and was told the bank blocked her card for suspicious activity. She went to the bank and was told that the bank can't block her card, digital banking blocked it. She contacted digital banking again and was told they would issue another card. On 12-21-2025, she found out that the bank closed her account and would issue a check for the balance within 7-10 days! She has 4 kids, and had several Christmas presents to pick up for them before Christmas. She can't write a check, use her debit card, or withdraw her cash from her account. I will move my accounts from First Horizon, to one of my other banking institutions. I've had suspicious activity caught on my debit card from a different bank, and it wasn't suspicious on my part. My bank canceled the card and sent me an new one. This has happened 3 times this year. First Horizon should be ashamed of themselves!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I deposited a mobile check on November 28. I received an email from them telling me that the funds would be delayed until December 2nd. Today is December 5th, and the funds are still not there. I call them, they put me on hold forever, then go to voicemail. I leave a message, and they never return my call. They don't even deserve the one star. I will definitely switch banks as soon as I can :(
