Terrible company! Absolute scam! After paying what I was told was a ‘holding’ deposit, it turns out it was fees for insurance I hadn’t asked for or been told I was getting and a toll pass I specifically said I didn’t want! After sales has no interest there staff are scamming customers. Avoid or pay more than you expected.
Probably based on the score this won't surprise anyone but this is a company of scammers and thievesI took the car for a few weeks - I asked to add 5 days I received an offer and I agreedI came back with the car they checked it and said everything was fine I paid for the 5 days with the last cash I had left and they drove me to the portThe day after that they charged me again for the 5 days, added 50 euros for cleaning the car and I also paid again for the transfer between countries that I paid in advance - they are a company of thieves unfortunately!!! They charged us twice for the same things
the say the car is at San Francisco airport and it is not.so its frustrating to take a shuttle to another destination to get your call. you have to read fine print down in a corner somewhere to see that it isn't, it just makes the process longer. car was actually fine. I got a toll for the bridge and I forgot to pay, they send my bill to australia, where I live, with an admin fee attached to which I dont mind. they state they will take the fee out of my credit card at the time to which I agree is fine but they dont and they continually send me bills and keep adding administration fees at a stupidly increased dollar value so now it is not ok. I would never book through this company again.
I prepaid for my week long car rental and got a great price until I went to pick up the car and they tried to charge me more than double what I paid. The old black woman at the airport office in San Diego wouldn't even tell me her name and she had no business card or name tag or anything. I spoke with her manager, Mr. Garza, and he was an equally rude jerk, demanding more money than what I agreed to pay for the rental. After, I decided that I would not rent a car from them and get my money back because I did not want to pay more than double what we agreed on and what I prepaid online, I hung around and overheard them do this same scam to the next two people in line. Those people were upset too but they paid it. It has been over two months and I have contacted customer service and even their corporate offices and I get no assistance and no replies. Is everyone at Fox Rent a Car a total jerk? It seems so. I have to now take them to small claims court to get my $335 back that I paid to receive nothing but a huge inconvenience. How do they find such rude employees? I don't know but I have never had such a horrible experience with renting a car before. Dishonest scam artists at Fox Rent a Car Simply a horrible experience! They took my prepaid reservation and then tried to charge me more than double when I came to pick up the car. I have already reported them to the State Attn General and now just waiting for small claims court to get my money back plus additional expenses. Mean and dishonest people running this company.
