We were bought a Smartbox buy a gift from a frend, and what a NIGHTMARE this has been - we tried to work out from the voucher inclued what was the value of the gift - this wasnt avaible to see on the gift voucher or even when we signed in online, so we called the buya gift customer service - and guess what they didnt know either - so we booked an afternoon tea at a local hotel at £34.99 and they didnt know either how much was on the voucher - in fact eveyone one we spoke to didnt much about this style of voucher - its really not easy to understand I wont be recomending this Smartbox idea to any of my family or freinds its far to confusing to work out - so we don't know if there is any credit left on the smartbox voucehr because nobody knows the value was in the first place.out what was the valube in money on this Smartbox buya agift worked, we called the customer service at buya agift and still the customer advisr couldnt conform how much

I brought a smart box with the pure intention to just use it for 1 experience. I check that that experience was available before i purchased, which it was. Once purchased i tried to book the experience but it was no longer available even though it was still advertised in the online Guide book! i am still waiting for a customer services manager to get back to me ( 1 week on). I would class this as trades description/ false advertising. Very disappointed.
Unfortunately this system just another business trick found in the Internet Age. They just promise a lot of things with some small font warnings at the end of their offers.I sen 10+ requests to different hotels and my request was always rejected. Some hotels asked for extra money. e.g. for a CHF 200 smartbox, they asked for 30 Euros per person per night. In the end 120 Euros + 200 Swiss Francs would be the cost of my stay. When I check the proce of property online I see that it costs only CHF 90 per night. As you can see it makes no sense to use this. Just give vouchers to your loved ones instead.Another important thing to mention is validity of the smart box. They are only valid for 2 years. Although they say that you can extend it online, this is not working. I tried it but the Smartbox expired anyway. I contacted helpdesk multiple times and what I get is standard "We are on it" emails for 3 weeks. As I said just book online yourself or give "vouchers" as present. They cost less and more practical and reliable.
