Hello,I requested a change of locks and was quoted on the phone that it would be a £50 call and around £20/£30 o change the locks based on the infromaiton I gave. Unfortunately when the fitter turned up (1 hour 30 minutes after they said he would). He initially quoted me £167 for the locks, plus the £50 call out, plus VAT. I almost had to haggle him down to the total quote being £188.40. Even then I felt pressured into it as I would of had to pay the call out fee regardless. Extremeley poor.
They are rip offs. Please do not take their services. I was quoted £49 over the phone as I had explained the issue as it was only to remove the slipped screw. The technician came over & finished the job in just less than 5 minutes only to charge me £165.i would not recommend them to anyone. Please read the reviews. They do not even deserve 1 star.
Madalin did a great job replacing a lock in my external door. It was a complicated job, but he clearly knew what he was doing and explained everything very well. We agreed the price before he started work. He was friendly and efficient and a pleasure to deal with.
Had I known this was the company that would appear I could have checked them out. However, the website I contacted was for an emergency locksmith with no mention of General Services Ltd. They came in an unmarked car which should have raised my suspicions, but it was an emergency and they had arrived! I am currently waiting for them to return to complete the job started yesterday. It is 14.50 and I was promised they would be back by 12.00. My calls are going voicemail! I have paid half the quoted amount, but believe the job was overpriced to start with. Please avoid.PS. The locksmith eventually arrived. The car did have minimal information on the rear, something I could not see yesterday. He was polite and apologised. However, I still feel he, and I, were let down by very poor customer service.
