Ridiculously overpriced chargers at a Premier Inn - who needs fast, expensive charging when they are sleeping overnight?! And an overstay charge punishing one when the car hasn't even reached full charge. Appalling. Avoid wherever possible.
Just used the chargers at Cribbs shopping center in bristol. DONT USE THEM. The card payments dont work all bays were empty but only one was listed in there awful app. The best charge rate we got was 3.5kwh which pointless. We gave up and used the tesla stations 50yards away. This is everything that makes the UK charging system so useless compared to Europe
I charged at the Premier Inn and have received a parking ticket as I didn’t also pay for parking. (Another £10) I contacted Genie who told me this was not under their control. The map detailing the charging points does not make it clear that you also have to pay for parking while in a genie charging spot nor is there any such information on the charger. My penalty notice clearly shows I was only parking whilst I charged my car.
My first experience with public charging… so i downloaded a fistful of Charging apps. I had planned to stop in Bath for driving break, dinner and charge. Turns out to be GeniePoint. OK, no app. No QR. OK website. Tortuous sign up with multiple repetitions of input. 2010 style website. Finally after swearbox nearing overflow, charging. Return after an hour (didn’t need fast charging) on 7kw left town. Got home, checked credit card and found that I had been charged £1, then £25, then £1, then £8.70, then another £25. This makes £60.70. I hope I get the £52 back. If not, I am nowhere near wealthy enough for this game. I really hope I’m wrong about genie point, but they look like sharp practice cheap shots, no updates and no maintenance. Having seen internet reviews it reinforces my view. Avoid.
Was trying to charge as a guest,Followed the steps as per instructions on notice board next to charger, Downloaded the app that was indicated on the charger that didn’t work,Downloaded another app that was indicated at the bottom of the notice board next to charger below the top app that didn’t workhad to put down 30£, accidentally pushed don’t allow GPS, menu kicked me outrung customer service, had to put down 30£ again, he walked me through the steps the system still wouldn’t let me charge (guy said this is weird)had to then register for 25£ and go through the process for 4rd time, I was down 85£ at this point just so I could charge for 6£the whole experience was so bad I would easily call it a SCAM !!! very expensive lesson to learn, please learn from my mistake and avoid at all cost.-3⭐️
We used the Genie Point charger at the Premier Inn, Chipping Norton - our advice is AVOID! The Chademo charger didn't disconnect at the end of a full charge. The Green light on the Chademo didn't go off and it would not release from our car. It took 5 hours and many many phone calls to get Genie Point to finally accept that they needed to switch the electricity to the whole unit off.
