We took our family to celebrate a birthday at a local restaurant. Once seated, we received menus but waited 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order despite the restaurant being only half full. Eventually, I had to request drinks, which took another 10 minutes. It was clear that the staff were not prioritizing service. After another 15 minutes, we had to ask to place our food order. The starters were good, but our empty dishes remained on the table for an additional 15 minutes. When we finally received our main courses, many were cold and had to be sent back. The food was decent overall, but I was frustrated by the delay and lack of attention. I asked for the bill, which came quickly. I opted not to pay the service charge. Overall, our visit was not satisfactory. It seems that good service has been overlooked, which is disheartening. We won’t be returning, as dining out has become increasingly disappointing at various places.
The food was served cold and wasn’t enjoyable. While the staff were friendly, the service felt hurried. We received the bill quickly, and a service charge was added without prior notice, even though it was just the two of us. Additionally, the door was locked right behind us as we left, which felt unwelcoming.
I celebrated my 16th birthday here and enjoyed the salt and pepper set. The staff were polite and promptly cleared our plates. My grandmother joined me and also enjoyed her meal. To my surprise, they brought out a delightful chocolate cake with 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate. I loved it! I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy small dishes and curries. I wanted to share this review because it was an amazing experience and I would definitely return.
The food was decent and the atmosphere comfortable, but I was surprised to see a 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill. If I want to tip, I prefer to do it myself. Many establishments are doing this now, and if the food is truly worth that extra charge, it should be reflected in the menu. I won’t be coming back.
I enjoyed a lovely dinner for two at a local branch. The satays were the best I've ever had. The manager was welcoming and knowledgeable, and the service was great. Although there are no branches in Scotland yet, I look forward to returning when I'm back down south.
As a regular at one branch, I've always enjoyed good service and what I thought were generous portions. However, after visiting another location today, I left feeling let down. The service was fine and the venue was clean, but the portion size for a dish priced around £16 was truly disappointing. It just didn’t feel like good value. I appreciate the brand and am willing to pay for quality, but the price-to-portion ratio here was off. If you're used to the other location, be prepared for a different experience.
We paid our bill by card, but as we were leaving, we were called back in and told there was an error with the payment. They canceled it and requested we pay again, which was frustrating since it wasn’t our fault. Later, I found out that the service charge hadn’t been added, and they didn’t explain anything to us. I feel this is poor customer service and that we were pressured into paying the service charge. Normally we always tip, but I hadn’t noticed it was missing. Disappointed with this experience and won’t return.
