Review Time
Dear GLS Netherlands,
I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the repeated delivery failures that are causing direct financial damage to my business.
Due to ongoing delays and parcels not being delivered on the promised dates, I am losing customers and revenue. Every shipment that is marked “out for delivery” and then not delivered results in lost income and reputational damage to my company.
This is not an isolated incident. It is a recurring pattern. Your unreliable delivery process and inconsistent communication make it impossible to plan operations or maintain customer trust.
As a direct result of your service failures:
I am losing money,
I am losing customers,
my company’s reputation is being damaged,
and the supply chain with my wholesalers is being negatively affected.
If this situation does not improve immediately, I will publicly share my experiences and strongly advise my business partners and suppliers to reconsider using GLS. I cannot allow my company to continue suffering because of operational failures beyond my control.
I require:
A clear explanation of the repeated delivery issues.
Concrete corrective actions to prevent further losses.
Assurance of improved reliability moving forward.
If no effective solution is provided, I will be forced to transition to alternative logistics providers and consider further formal action to recover my losses.
I expect a prompt and substantive response.

GLS Netherlands is one of the most unreliable courier companies I have ever experienced as a business owner.
Parcels are repeatedly marked as “out for delivery” and then simply not delivered. No explanation. No accountability. No consistency. This is not an occasional issue — it is a recurring pattern.
Approximately 6 out of 10 shipments are delayed or mishandled. Today alone, I lost around €1,000 in revenue because a confirmed delivery was once again not completed.
It is impossible to plan business operations with this level of service. My company’s reputation suffers because GLS fails to meet basic delivery commitments.
If you run a business and depend on reliability, I strongly recommend reconsidering before using GLS.
I don't appreciate it when I am at home expecting my parcel and suddenly I receive a message with the false claim that I was not at home for delivery. Happens all the time, probably your drives are trained to do so, not the first time I have to complain about it
Two days in a row the package was stated as loaded in a van, both days we made sure to stay home to be here when the package arrives. Two times the delivery was cancelled due to an unforeseen circomstance. On day 1 I even got the message the attempted delivery failed because no one was home. No bell was rung. No phone call was made even if they have my cell phone.
Before ordering home delivery again I am going to make sure the company does not work together with GLS because this is bad. And they close all your tickets when you address an issue they cannot solve as "already open ticket running". Even when you ask a question in the "open" ticket any issues is closed.
Avoid. At all costs. And check whether your seller (eg on bol.com) works with GLS.
4 weeks no information about delivery. The only message from GLS is as follows: The parcel is stored in the final parcel center. It could not be delivered as the consignee was absent.
Help to figure out this final parcel center.
Completely unacceptable and shockingly poor service. Initially, I was patient, believing that earlier delays were due to weather issues. That patience has now vanished. For several consecutive days, I received delivery windows from the service that meant nothing. I stayed home, adjusted my schedule, and the package never arrived. One day, I was informed that my parcel would be delivered the next day between 10:45 and 13:45. On the designated day, that delivery window mysteriously vanished from the tracking, and once again, the package wasn't even out for delivery. No explanation, no accountability, nothing. This occurred three times! Afterward, I lodged a complaint and was assured it would definitely be delivered that day, so I waited yet again. I took another (fourth!!!!) day off work. Tracking indicated there were only 10 stops remaining, and then I received an email claiming they “attempted delivery twice” and that I “wasn’t home,” which is utterly false! I was home the entire time. This isn’t a mistake; it’s either incompetence or outright dishonesty. I wasted FOUR DAYS OF MY TIME waiting at home due to this disastrous delivery service. I earn around €275 net per day, and this service has cost me over €1,100 worth of lost time. I demand compensation for this loss resulting from your failure to execute the most basic part of your job. It’s honestly embarrassing that a package from a distant country can arrive faster than one traveling between two neighboring nations when this service is involved. This company sets a new low for logistics. Someone needs to be held accountable because this level of service is beyond absurd. Steer clear of this service at all costs unless you enjoy wasting time, experiencing fake delivery attempts, and receiving no respect as a customer.
Disappointing service. It's impossible to reach them. I have been waiting for my package for 12 days, and when I complained, they mentioned they would contact the delivery person. What happened? They returned the package, and now I can no longer receive it.
The package arrived later than expected, but that was reasonable considering the New Year's holiday and the heavy snowfall. When it was delivered, the courier kindly helped by lifting the package again so I could carry it upstairs more easily. I truly appreciated that thoughtful gesture.
Fantastic delivery service, the email communication is straightforward and convenient. This is particularly helpful as I frequently work on-site and can have the delivery sent to an alternative location. Keep up the great work!
This has been the worst delivery experience I've ever had. They fail to provide any notification about when deliveries will occur, simply stating, "today we're delivering your parcel." If you’re not at home, you’re out of luck. On the rare occasion I was home, I waited by the door for them to ring the bell. I could track their vehicle as it approached, but they never rang the bell, claiming I wasn’t home when I was actually waiting right there. If they do happen to ring the bell and I manage to get the door open, they leave without coming inside, which I can confirm via my camera. I was expecting four different parcels, and they delivered none due to these issues. If I had the choice to select a different delivery service, I would definitely do so.
