Mixed Experience as a Trainee Surveyor

I truly appreciated my time as a Trainee Surveyor, gaining insights from two skilled professionals who were both supportive and knowledgeable. However, my experience in the property office was quite the opposite. The individual managing the office lacked experience, confidence, and created a toxic atmosphere. Their behavior was often two-faced, condescending, and they frequently blamed new hires for errors, even when communication was poor and organization was lacking. New starters were often singled out for mistakes made while not present, leaving them unable to effectively address issues. The leadership approach seemed to focus more on personal advancement than on team support. This created an exhausting and demoralizing environment, which is not conducive for anyone serious about career development. It's no wonder that there is a high turnover rate in the property office, although some employees may not recognize that this is a result of the office culture. Despite these obstacles, I value the lessons learned from supportive coworkers and the experience of navigating a challenging environment, which will aid in my professional development.

It's no surprise that staff turnover is high; however, some employees may not recognize that this is rooted in the office culture. Avoid This Company

Stay away from this company; I've been struggling with them for a year to address damp issues in my rented property. Despite promises, no action was taken until I escalated the matter to housing standards. Shortly after, I received notice to vacate, as the landlord claimed they couldn't afford repairs. Now I'm in temporary accommodation, and to add insult to injury, they're trying to withhold half of our deposit. I've now contacted a lawyer to resolve this.

Extremely Poor Experience

The experience my family has had with the company has been nothing short of dreadful, primarily due to the unacceptable conduct of their property manager. From start to finish, communication was dismissive, slow, and often outright rude. Basic responsibilities were ignored or handled with complete indifference. Issues were repeatedly raised but either brushed off or met with excuses instead of action. Emails went unanswered, phone calls were not returned, and when responses did come, they lacked professionalism. It genuinely felt like tenants were treated as an inconvenience rather than customers. The condescending and defensive attitude from the management was particularly frustrating. This level of service is unacceptable from a company that claims to manage properties professionally. I would strongly advise anyone to reconsider before engaging with this service.

Avoid When Selling

The service provided for my Grandfather's property listing was a complete disaster. The photos taken were of poor quality and failed to showcase the property's good features. Consequently, it sat on the market for months with no interest. We later discovered that the company charges per viewing without prior disclosure, which felt like a hidden fee. Their focus seems to be solely on rental properties, as selling appears to be an afterthought. Overall, the service was unprofessional and a significant waste of time and resources. I strongly advise against using them.

Disappointing Letting Agent

This letting agent was a significant letdown. Upon moving into our rented house, it was filthy, save for the lounge, which had been freshly painted. The toilet seats were stained, cobwebs were everywhere, and it took a whole pack of cleaning supplies to address the windows. The oven was unusable for two months because the landlord refused to replace it. We accepted these issues without complaint and even helped with viewings during our notice period. However, the lies submitted to the deposit protection scheme were astonishing, particularly the alleged 'cleaning charge.' If you value your peace of mind, please avoid this company.

Excellent Service Received

I received outstanding service from the representative. I had to reschedule multiple appointments due to ongoing work, and they were very accommodating. Upon arrival, the representative was thorough and professional, asking for detailed information, which I was able to provide due to my documentation throughout the process. They clearly communicated timelines and met my expectations. Although I was disappointed with the low EPC rating, the representative took the time to explain the reasons behind it. I would highly recommend this individual for future work.

Regretting My Decision

I'm beginning to regret my choice. As a tenant, I find this company exceedingly slow in addressing issues, many of which remain unresolved. Workers have informed me of ongoing problems, but that's another issue altogether. I applied to view other properties and have been ignored. The property I'm renting has serious issues, including black mold and structural concerns, which I'm told won't be addressed. I also received notice to vacate during a global pandemic after living here for eight years without any mention of the house being sold.
