Even a small process is made complicated & have to wait for 3 weeks for completion registration.I requested to send communication on what is expected to finish the registration process where I was communicated that they couldn’t send it.So WEIRD 😳; things didn’t seem right for me & I had to stop the registration process and get away from them.
Never received card. Contacted the company and a replacement card was promised. Waited a week and the card still never arrived. Contacted greenlight for a refund and they asked me to wait another 10 days. I had to promise legal action and to contact the Better Business Bureau before they agreed to process a full refund. It should have never come to this. It's bad business.
My daughters account was hacked into 24 times in the last 2 months. 2 different debit cards were used for fraudulent charges - which they can clearly see in her account. I alerted them to fraud 2 months ago and nothing has been done to secure her account OR identity!Contacting customer service is a joke - they blame your kid "It must be where she is shopping online" or "contact the merchant"! NO, its Greenlight that was hacked 24 times, this has nothing to do with the merchant. All they have to do is look at the 24 attempted transactions across 2 debit cards and they can see the fraud for themselves.Even though Mastercard provides " Zero Liability Protection" on these debit cards - they make you file out a claim form and say that you have to wait 90 days for it to be resolved. There is ZERO REASON any customer should have to wait 90 days if Greenlight was a legit company. Mastercard has the policy so why won't Greenlight abide by it? Super shady.After 24 attempts, someone stole $100 right out of my childs pocket and they refuse to help OR answer me on how they plan to secure her account & identity. HORRIBLE.
Our kids and I have found Greenlight to be simple and fast to use. My son took his Greenlight card on a field trip to another state. I loved being able to monitor his spending. I noticed he was very careful not to exceed his balance!
Terrible experience. I got this card for my son who has disabilities so that he always had available money for gas. He was never able to use the card as it was declined every time he attempted to use it. When I complained and closed the card, I was told their fees were not refundable, even though the card was useless. I was also told that I could add money and put "on hold" since when a gas station get's "pre-authorization", it may be refused if the balance is small. Total waste of money. I need to find a more reliable card. Shell was great, but is no longer available.
I just spent over 1.5 hours trying to deposit money in my grandaughter’s greenlight.com account, using the link furnished by my daughter for this purpose. I repeatedly entered the correct CC information, and waited for the verification code. After entering the code, I was informed that the payment was not processed, check the code or use a different payment type. I checked the information each time, and it had been entered correctly. I called the bank that issued the card and spent tow lengthy phone calls with their service department. They said that they had not received the transaction requests. I gave up, and tried to use a different payment card with a different bank. I had the same result. Greenlight’s “stuff” is very flaky. I will not be using them again.Update, August 22, 2025. I changed my previous "1 Star" to 4 Stars. The probems I had depositing money into my grandaughter's account seems to have been caused by my using a VPN connection. I later disabled the VPN and was then able to easily make the deposit. My review would have been for 5 Stars if Greenlight had had some kind of "help" available to assist me.
Great until the card got hacked, then absolutely no customer service even though I reached out. Waited 2 weeks for something to be done, nothing was done, no communication at all, so closed account after deleting payment resources just so nothing else would be stolen. Don't know if I'll get any of my money back that was stolen. No communication from greenlight. Just automated responses.
It started off fine at first untill i made a larger deposit. I have a whole deal but I'll save you the details. It's a scam, they don't disclose any of their "policies " they sideswipe you and DO NOT WORK with the customer what so ever. I promise take my word you will regret dealing with this headache of a company.
