purchased G0776 lathe.

purchased G0776 lathe.Problems W/Grizzly as a company:The customer service you hear is so great-I cannot say enough BAD about them! If there are ANY issues, you get someone else every time you call or email; start over each time, completely disconnected company. Confused people aggravated by a totally ridiculous computer system adding to the mess. I had several issues with shipping, availability of product and so on. I visited the Bellingham store, they say over and over to "give us a call-we are here to help"- a total lie. You cannot reach the store by phone and talk to who you dealt with! Try it now; call Bellingham Grizzly, you'll get someone somewhere else! You don't get a warranty if you purchase thru a retailer. I tried on a different item, and they tell me the warranty goes to who they sell it to- in this case, the retailer!About the product:crated and packed very well.Did the break in on the lathe, changed the oil- metal filings, quite a bit. ran it again, changed the oil, metal filings. opened it up- loads of filings in the headstock which ruined the $500 worth of bearings. they are on order, so I can't tell you if the machine is any good!

I ordered a tomahawk for Christmas…

I ordered a tomahawk for Christmas 2023, order placed mid Nov'23, but have heard nothing back since. Reached out to them a couple of times, but no response of acknowledgment - their site looked great, with celebrity endorsement. Guess I'm just another sucker who fell for it - will be having words with my credit card company.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Very unresponsive supervisors. Wanted to purchase knife grinder with three sets of belts. Needed to use a gift card, eBay (Grizzly own store) was cheaper price, lower taxes, free shipping, but couldn’t use gift card. Supervisor unable to match their own price. Supervisor too busy to make change. Customer service person had loud dog barking and said she couldn’t do anything and that it did not seem fair.

Recall Notice

OK so I am very annoyed at a situation that has developed over the past few weeks. In 2010. I purchased a ShopFox W1758 lathe and have been using it every week for the past 12+years without issue. On the 4th Nov this year I received a recall notice from Amazon regarding this lathe stating there was an issue with the cutting tools. It turned out that the faults are in fact with the faceplate and tool rest and not the cutting tools which ShopFox did not supply (still it's good to know there is an issue). Anyway to cut a very long story short I was asked to immediately stop using the lathe and contact Grizzly Industries to request replacement parts, which I did and was informed that I had to wait until mid March 2024 (estimated) to receive the new parts, in the mean time do not use the lathe.Thats 4 1/2 month before the lathe can be used and thats only an estimated delivery time, we all know how things can be delayed especially when they come from overseas companies in China. If I used this just for a hobby lathe I guess it would be no issue but I'm in the middle of a huge Bugatti Throne Chair like project and it now looks like I have to purchase another lathe to safely complete them in a timely manner. Grizzly are selling similar lathes on their website that use identical faceplates and similar adjustable tool rests that would fit this lathe but no, they will only supply replacements by making existing customers wait months!Update Sept22nd 2024After posting details of this fiasco with TPs website and the Better Business website along with more than 100+ review websites Grizzly Industrial seem to have gotten the message and supplied a replacement within 10 days. But it shouldn't have necessitated this sort of action?

Not the old Grizzly. This is the new Grizzly.

Grizzly had a decent reputation in the past. Some kid took over from daddy and now they peddle the worst Chinese garbage I've ever run across. And I know most tools I buy are from China. I get that. And the Chinese make some really good stuff. Not Grizzly. They peddle the worst crap you could ever imagine. Absolute garbage. In 5 years the name Grizzly will be equivalent to garbage. But during that 5 year period, the little boy brat that inherited daddy's good name will be filthy rich.

Sorry I bought Grizzly

Purchased an oscillating sander, used it 3 days and it broke. sent it back and got a replacement ok. 1/2" sanding sleeves do not fit the spindle. the one provided did however I purchased extra from Grizzly and they do not fit, too tight. I will look elsewhere next time I need a piece of equipment for my shop. bought Grizzly for years but no more.Sad part is there are not many companies that actually care about quality and customer service anymore..

Purchased Grizzly 1800W scarifier

Purchased Grizzly 1800W scarifier. On the first use the metal frame of the collection box broke. On the fourth time of use the motor fan disintegrated. 15 months into 3 year warranty. Contacted Grizzly tools Germany to obtain spare parts and after many emails, they were not interested in helping. Poor quality product and poor after sales service. Not possible to give no stars

T32336 Compressor from Grizzly

T32336 Compressor from Grizzly. It took three tries to get one that ran. First two had failed pressure relief valves, causing the cylinders to remain loaded after first pressure cycle. It would attempt to run next cycle and pop the circuit breaker. Grizzly compensated me with a gift certificate for that hassle - good on them. The third machine only ran for 13 months (one month past warranty expiration) and had only about 25 hours of total operating time. In mid-cycle, it started clattering badly. Sounds like something came apart in the primary cylinder drive assembly. Grizzly Customer Service refused to compensate me in any way, telling me to contact the manufacturer (Mega Compressor). I'll have to rethink buying anything more from Grizzly (I have their table saw, planer/jointer and dust collector - all good, but bought many years ago). Has their quality control and customer care fallen by the wayside? Could be. Good luck. Wrote a review on their website including the above. Not posted. Apparently a dishonest company, as stated in another review on Trust Pilot.UPDATE 9/29/2022: I have now disassembled the machine and found it to have failed from (yet another) manufacturing defect. The screw that secures the pressure plate and piston ring to the piston head failed (fractured) in what appears to have been a fatigue crack that was likely due to either it being defective (cracked) upon insertion or over-torqued when it was installed. This left the pressure plate at the top of the cylinder and the piston head flopping around within the cylinder. I have been in contact with Mega Power in Texas, the "manufacturer" (actually it's made in China, as seen on the machine label) and received a quote of $2.50 per M6-1.00 x 16mm screw, plus $17.00 for shipping and handling, plus a 4.5% charge for using my credit card. The screw in use is stamped "HUA 10.9", meaning it is a high tensile strength, Class 10.9 screw. Problematically, the screw is black oxide-coated steel, which is corrosion-resistant only in dry environments. There was some rust on the head of the screw, but this was not the cause of failure. These same black oxide steel screws are also used on the exhaust port lock block (atop the upper valve plate), in a recessed hole that holds water that is condensed during compression operations. These screw heads were badly rusted, but I cannot predict the impact this might have on the life of the machine. The inside of a compressor is NOT a dry environment, and these screws should not have been used. Rather than reassemble the machine with these same, corrosion-prone screws, I opted to purchase zinc-plated Class 10.9 screws for the pressure plates and 18-8 stainless steel screws for the exhaust port blocks from McMaster-Carr (available only in packs of 50) for about $0.15 per screw plus a reasonable shipping charge. The machine is now up and running quietly again. My advice to the Grizzly shopper in all of this is as follows: If you buy a Grizzly compressor, be sure to operate it for at least 40 hours within the warranty period in hopes that if it has a defect such as this it will fail while you are still covered by the warranty. My advice to Grizzly Industrial: Hire some engineers to look closely at how the products you want to sell are manufactured, or better yet, specify how a machine is to be manufactured to meet Grizzly requirements. This could result in a better product and a far more satisfied customer. Buyer beware.

Horizontal boring machine

I bought a horizontal boring machine from them and within five minutes I was perplexed by not only how incredibly poorly it was designed, but also by the construction itself. The metal is so soft that you will strip any of the set screws by the slightest over tightening, it is lacking linear bearings and the last goes on and on. I call Grizzly several times, and all they would offer me was replacement of a 25 cent screw! You usually get what you pay for but with Grizzly tools you get even less!
