A deceptively large cottage, simply decorated. Beds are very very comfortable and the house was warm & cosy when we stayed in December. The cottage is part of an estate so it is quiet and there is a private driveway. As part of the stables the horses are literally next door. The garden isn't secure if you take dogs but the long driveway provides a morning stroll. Abs the caretaker was great. A real asset to the experience. Stables Cottage is a 10 minute drive from Salisbury and in the perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of the world. Group Retreats provided an extremely professional service and were very helpful throughout the booking process.
We fulfilled a dream of seeing all the family over the Christmas period - and in some style too!Questions were answered beforehand promptly and efficiently. We found the house really well stocked with the basics and with extra special touches too.Beautifully decorated for Christmas, with the pool warm and inviting and the grounds looking crisp and cool for walking…not to mention the games barn - there’s enough room for everyone to enjoy themselves and each other’s company too.The cleaning team had worked their magic before we arrived, William (maintenance) checked in on us during our stay and it all worked well. This was our 2nd visit and we'd certainly consider returning.
16 of us stayed at Saham Grove Hall for 3 nights in December. I would recommend the property to anyone, it's great for a multi family stay with a wide range of ages. The house has a great kitchen, 3 lounges as well as a games room and hot tub. Not as relevant for December but for the summer the house has great outdoor space as well.
We stayed at Ashfield Place Farm with our extended family and had a wonderful experience. The place is huge, with plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably. We were warmly welcomed with biscuits and jams, and the house was already heated when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.There were plenty of board games to enjoy, and we especially loved the conservatory with underfloor heating, it meant we could play pool for longer without feeling cold. All the necessary utensils and equipment were provided, including tennis rackets, which made our stay even more enjoyable.We would absolutely recommend this place and would happily stay again.
From start to finish the process was very smooth. The Cottage was exactly as described, everything was there for you (apart from a sink plug strangely) and it was all decked out for Christmas. Can’t fault Group Retreats, would recommend and book again.
We had an excellent weekend at Ashfield House to celebrate three big birthdays with family. The house was, very clean and well maintained, large, warm, well equipped, extremely comfortable and although large had a really cosy and homely vibe. Our ages ranged from 1 to 91 and everyone was full of praise for how lovely it was. It was also beautifully decorated for Christmas, thankyou. We were also grateful for the lovely hamper and hot tub. Jason responded very quickly to our request for logs and explained the situation clearly and professionally. Because this beautiful old house has many different levels and steps and one WC on the ground floor, being aware of access and mobility is something to take account of. We would warmly recommend this lovely house and location for family and/or friends gatherings.
We stayed at Abbey House for three nights, 22 of us for a 70th birthday celebration.We can absolutely recommend it.It took us a while to be able to navigate this house with its nine bedrooms, loft and countless lounges.Totally surprised that the owners let anyone stay here.It was at the end of November so the swimming pool was closed, although the hot tub was available if we wanted to use it. Super venue for a large family gathering.
We booked a stay at The Plant House via Group Retreats, and we were absolutely blown away! The property was stunning, with so many amazing facilities. The garden area was beautiful, with a hot tub, natural pool, sauna, and even heat lamps by the seating area! They even had a games room. Everything was a five star - I could not fault any of it. Before our arrival, Group Retreats provided us with all the information that we needed and made the check in so smooth. I would definitely book through them again. We loved our stay and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you :)
The Group Retreat's property (Glentworth Hall near Gainsborough) was magnificent! It's size, decor & furnishings where outstandingly beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped & the welcome hamper was a really nice touch.A wonderful property to host our event, we will definitely book with Group Retreats again!
Thanks to Jason and the Team for a great stay. The poor house is showing the signs of wear and tear but a very fine home, quirky and inviting, plenty of space for everyone to do as they wish. Jason was great, the heating went off and immediately he had it back on and even popped a few more logs outside the door for us. Always nice when someone goes the extra mile.
