Review Time
I want to start by saying that our vet, Benjamin, was absolutely excellent, this review in no way reflects on the clinical care my cat, Nia, received. Benjamin was kind, thorough, expert, and clearly dedicated to the wellbeing of his patients.However, I was incredibly disappointed by the practice’s stance on insurance claims. I’m insured with PetPlan and have one of their top-tier policies. One of the key benefits of this is being able to make a direct claim, where the insurer pays the vet directly. When I asked if I could make a direct claim, I was told point-blank that the practice does not do direct claims. It was only after I challenged this, explained my background, and pushed back, drawing on my 20 years of experience as a veterinary nurse, dealing with hundreds of practices, none of which have ever refused a direct claim with Petplan, that the member of staff eventually said I could put in a direct claim after all. But let’s be clear: this would never have been offered if I hadn’t known exactly what to say.Most clients wouldn’t have that knowledge or confidence to argue their case, and would simply be left paying out of pocket, often for significant amounts. And that’s what really concerns me. Pet insurance exists precisely because many people don’t have thousands of pounds sitting in their bank account. To be told initially that a direct claim isn’t even an option is, in my opinion, appalling.For that reason, and despite the excellent clinical care, I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone who isn’t in a position to pay up front, or fight to be allowed to use the cover they already pay for.
Have used this vets for 2 years having moved to the area and leaving a wonderful vet behind, I was very concerned about changing vets and was prepared to travel to my old vet, but found hart vets and buzz immediately reassured that they could provide the care I needed 2 years on. I am very happy with everything they have done for both me and my pets. They spend the time with you to explain everything and give you the time you need. I lost one of my pets recently, and the experience with hart was very compassionate and unrushed would highly recommend, everybody is always very professional.
I would never trust harts again. I took my cat there as she was acting strange, . There wasn't anything I could do They said as of her age (17) it would be best to relieve her They took away the her beautiful blanket and gave me a 'teatowel' while I held her and spoke to her a vet administered and said ' there you go she's gone ... oh no wait she has a strong heartbeat , arrhh now shes gone !!!! Then I was ushered out to pay ! I hate them
Practice Manager will not listen to a complaint. It's their way or the highway. I've never experienced such terrible customer service in all my years. I've been a customer for 25 years, but moved to another because of her disgusting response to a complaint. Avoid at all cost.
We had a very bad start with our pup. Harts we’re so kind, reassuring and helpful. They treated us with respect and even checked up on us through calls. To us, it didn’t feel like they were only interested in the welfare of our animal but with us too. Honestly, we could not have gone through all this without them. Absolute heroes! Our pup loves to visit the surgery too (mostly because he is a drama queen who loves the attention haha) thank you hart vets from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us
I've had my beautiful dogs registered with Harts Vets for over 11 years now and they are a team which have provided emergency critical care and saved my dogs lives on occasions throughout, to be never repeated however!They provide the necessary veterinary services i.e vaccinations, routine check ups etc, give lots of information of your pets needs if You'd like it and don't make you feel stupid, if to them, it's simple question.
