For my first order I had ordered a small money tree and a pothos. When they arrived they looked extremely sickly. I emailed customer service and included some photos, and they responded very quickly with solutions. I placed my 2nd order to replace the first and I am very happy with the product I received.

I received a plant damaged in our last winter blizzard. I took a picture, and notified the company and within 24 hours I received a choice of replacement plant or code for a new plant later. The company was so fast and so polite that I happily recommend Rooted for you plant needs.
Getting plants shipped always incurs a bit of risk, and a plant I ordered arrived worse for wear due to some rough handling in transit. The Hey Rooted team were very understanding and quick to find a solution. Was given the option of a replacement for the expired plant or a credit to purchase another of a different species. I have delt with Hey Rooteds customer service on a couple of occasions they are top notch and I have always had satisfactory outcomes. I do suggest that if you purchase a plant or two from Hey Rooted that you do so in the late spring to early fall seasons as the sippers do not handle them well and they often get frozen!!!I will be purchasing more plant babies from them!
Unfortunately I purchased a plant in the winter. I received my Braided Money Tree, Xl, on January 2, 2026.I paid for winter packaging. The plant arrived with several leaves damaged with frostbite. The tree was stressed from the trip and cold.The winter packaging (only cushioned brown paper) was not sufficient in protecting the plant.The condition of the tree got worst. I had to remove all the leaves since they were dead and the tree itself does not look like it will survive. I was only offered a discount code for a future purchase and not a refund. I hope the next plant I buy is healthy. I was very disappointed since the reviews were good for Hey Rooted.
EDIT: The company issued a refund and a credit as a resolution. I ordered two plants as a birthday gift for my mother. When ordering l, the website said 3-8 days timing on the order. It took over two weeks to arrive and despite meticulous packaging, arrived frozen and dead. Additionally, the gift message, which was supposed to be sent when the plants were delivered, was sent early, spoiling the gift surprise. Upon contacting the company, supplying photos of the dead plants and requesting a refund, the company then requested photos of the packaging of the plants. This is a ridiculous ask of a person who received a gift. I was offered a credit for replacement of the “plant” (even though there were clearly TWO PLANTS in the order that had died). I will never do business with this company again. I regret not reading reviews before placing my order as it is clear that this company has many issues it needs to resolve.
I ordered 4 plants for my brother for his birthday and all of the plants arrived withered and dead. The pots also had scuff marks on them. Wirecutter recommended Rooted as the number one place to order plants and I feel scammed. Do not trust this site to deliver healthy plants.
I ordered 4 small plants for my sister’s birthday, 3 weeks ahead of time. At the time of order, shipment time was stated as 5-8 business days. Delivery didn’t happen until 2 weeks after her birthday. They also got the delivery address wrong, using the billing address instead, so I had to pay $17 to UPS to correct that mistake. Customer service said they were “looking into it”, then never got back to me. The gift card on the outside of the package had the information reversed (wishing me a happy birthday from my sister), even though it was correct on the inside. I have screenshots of how I placed the order, so was able to confirm these were all their errors. I also chose them because of the Wirecutter recommendation. I will never order from them again.
I ordered what was suppose to be a King of Air Plants, Extra Large plant from Hey Rooted. This was my first purchase from the site. The plant turned out to be more like a large air plant. Definitely not an extra large. But, what really upset me was the rot with brown and black spots on the plant. It had rot at the base. Two leaves on the plant were totally dead and the plant had a mildew smell. I love plants and ordered from several different vendors in the past. Hey Rooted is the first vendor that has disappointed me. I had high hopes that were dashed with a sub par product. Hope I can save the plant. For the price I paid I expected an extra large healthy plant, not a large rotted one. Save your money or go elsewhere.
The quality of their plants is low. It can delivered have soil spilled everywhere and the entire plant stems broke. There was only a spilled pot of soil when it was delivered. It was a gift and I was embarrassed to have sent it as a gift. For the price, I am disappointed.
