We parked @ Gulls Rock Inn, Cornwall, for a cup of coffee, after displaying our Blue Badge, we then received a £100 fine, which has been appealed/declined by Initialparking, this company is a disgrace and people working for it should be ashamed. It makes you want to disown Cornwall visits.Be warned.
This company is to be avoided at all costs. I received a parking charge even though I left the car park in Scarborough with 25 minutes to spare. They stated that I had evaded the fee. I wrote and explained my position and they immediately suggested the fine would now be £20 if paid within 14 days. Shocking way to treat customers.
Abersoch Village Hall Mafia. They cleverly make it impossible to pay by cash or card because their machines don’t work. Near zero reception to download their crooked app surrounded by many others also failing. Try to pay on the app & it repeatedly rejects bank authorised payments (screen grabbed evidence). If you stay they do you. If you leave you’ve spent so much time trying to pay the anpr cameras do you. You appeal with the bank evidence and they don’t reply for two months until a bill for £170.00 lands on your doorstep from tax haven Jersey based debt collectors. You have two weeks to appeal to their “trade body” if your appeal fails - but as they don’t tell you it’s failed you can’t. Catch 22 with menaces. What a fantastic business plan. Turn £3.10 into £170.00 in two months by turning your meter off & telling your app to refuse payment. And it actually appears to be legal! DVLA get £2.50 a pop for giving these leaches your address too. One wonders if they keep all the loot or backhand some of it back to the landowners. In this case the village hall charity who are apparently bombarded with email complaints but refuse to reply to them. Holidaying in Jersey probably?
Abersoch Village Hall Saturday 10th May. No slot to pay cash. Credit card reader not operative. Loads of people trying to download the "Initial Parking" which took ages.... and then wouldn't accept £3.20 bank authorised payment (screen grabs as proof). Tried again later to find it would accept £1.20 (1 hr) not £3.20 (3hr). Deliberate? Appeal made and acknowledged.Appeal ignored for over two months - assumed with the overwhelming evdence given it had been dropped - got a debt collectors letter yesterday demanding £170.00 as the "opportunity to appeal has now passed" Er...? Fortunately I have hard copies of everything. Anyone else scammed by Abersoch car park that day because of total absence of a means to pay, please reply via trustpilot. It refuses to accept my email for you to reply. Class action?
I parked in St Mary's car park Betws y coed and paid for 1 hour because I had to be in Bodnant restaurant by 3.30. Unfortuately I was late getting back to my car only to get a fine a few days later for £60 and told I should have paid another £1.50 for the 19 minutes extra I had stayed. I did not realise at the time that I was late. The 3 of us in the car that day are 84 year old pensioners and on limited income. One of us had bowel cancer and a stoma and needed to go to the toilet before getting back, she was also tired and had to rest a while on the way back, these factors contributed to us being late. Initial are a nasty greedy company. I will not be using the church car par again, I should add this is the only time I have used it. Never agin.
Was issued a parking charge by Initial Parking for overstaying while volunteering at my local soup kitchen. Despite appealing and raising complaints, they have shown no consideration for my circumstances and have enforced the £60 fine. Absolutely heartless and completely lacking in compassion.
Very poor service, as I could not speak to anyone about a fine . I waited outside the car park at Lamorna Cove Beach car park in April. I did not go in the car park. I appealed the fine and it was rejected. All I can think is as I turned around the cameras picked up my number plate. I was careful to not park on what I thought was the car park land. A very poor company that charges people who actually were not in their car park but were waiting on the road. I would recommend that you do not use or go near these car parks.
Parked at Howarth Central Car Park. Tried entering reg number 3 times. As soon as the first character was entered the machine went to the next step, not allowing for reg to be entered. Paid for my parking. Was sent a letter a week later with a parking charge for £100. Have since appealed but not holding my breath. Scam company.
Parked at Praa Sands - after a few attempts on a couple of different machines it wouldnt accept payment by phone. Tried again with my credit card and put in the registration number, got to the end and paid and noticed the ticket had only printed with the first 2 letters of my reg. As I had paid and displayed the ticket assumed there would be no problem until I received a Parking Charge Notice. Have appealed but it has been declined due to full reg not showing - sent proof of my payment. They offered to close the matter if I pay £20 - definitely a dodgy company!! Avoid parking at any intial parking sites!!!
